“Wonderful location, if there was a negative, then it would be that over the years the standard of equipment , china etc has not been so good as when we first started staying there.”

“Couple of things that could be improved on like very uncomfortable beds and pillows; coffee table in poor condition; carpets and windows could do with being cleaned; but comfortable settees and absolutely cracking view from the lounge!”
Also in an ideal location, right in town and near all pubs and restaurants. Tight parking space if you have a large car,, but once parked, you won't need your car again.

“The place feels a bit tired.”
We were the first renter when it was first available around 10 years ago. It doesn't appear to have had a decent refresh since which is disappointing. Still nice but could be better
We were very grateful for your feedback, but sorry to hear that you were not totally satisfied with the property. In the last eighteen months, 2 Terrapins has been furnished with new sofas and fitted with new carpets. Nevertheless, we appreciate your comments and will feed them back to the owner. “An excellent apartment , the position , the incredible view ,well stocked with everything you could want for self catering, the cleanliness is excellent, all appliances you require.”
Quite a few stairs to negotiate if mobility was an issue, but fortunately for us it is ideal, hope to visit again next year.

“What a view!”
We found the place clean and tidy, but- It was a little "tired" we felt it could do with some TLC. And what was the balcony about, a fantastic view with a rusty old metal table and chairs? Also the mattress was a little uncomfortable and probably needs changing. Don't get me wrong we had a lovely holiday, we love coming to Salcombe, but the apartment is in a great position just needs some updating. Regards Richard & Jenny Grinter

“We would have rated Terrapins as excellent, because we really enjoyed the property.”
The reason for the downgrade to Good is because there was no wifi installed even though it was advertised as available. This was a key selection criteria given that we required access for the purpose of staying in business contact. The owner made a token gesture of compensation, but we didn't feel it was commensurate with the absence of a major feature. If it hadn't have been advertised as available we would have chosen another property, so the owner gained booking revenue that they almost certainly wouldn't have done otherwise given the time of year. Having said that, I repeat we did enjoy the property. The agent did make the gesture of £50 off a future booking.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.
Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
