  • "On the whole this was a lovely, clean and comfortable property."

It was in a great location, near several local shops and only a 30 minute walk to Teignmouth. We enjoyed the log burner and having a separate lounge and dining room and kitchen. It was nice and dark and quiet overnight, which was great. We struggled with a few things though. The oven was far too fancy to be able to easily use and the instructions provided were far too brief. The property is advertised as having roadside parking on a first-come first-served basis, but this isn't exactly true. The only parking on the road where the cottage is was for permit holders or for 1 hour parking. As we came in the winter there was a bit of double yellow line parking available on the sea front, but this wouldn't have been available in the summer. The only other parking is in car parks. I really think that a permit for the cottage would have been useful. If you are tall, as we all were, you need to mind your head on every doorway. Take some warm clothes and blankets if you stay there in the winter as it's a cold house which takes a while to heat up, especially as the heating was not on when we arrived. Having said all of this I would recommend it as a nice place to stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay. In winter months our management team will make sure the heating is turned up for our guests arrival and we will also review the wording in the description regarding parking. Property Owner

  • "Basically very nice , one problem the new television ?"

    Couldn’t get normal channels ?

Thank you for your feedback Mr Cook. Having recently stayed at the property ourselves we have managed to address the anomaly with the channels which offer live streaming. We do not have access to Freeview channels but hope our guests find plenty of choice with channels available on the Smart TV. We look forward to hosting you once again to our lovely village of Shaldon in the spring of next year. Sally & Andrew Property Owner

  • "A lovely old terraced house in a beauttiful village and well appointed."

Very comfortable beds and furniture. Small points: what would have been helpful would have been instructions for the oven and hob also the TV or references to websites for the same. Also a couple of loo brushes and a memo of what day to put out the rubbish.

  • "Great location close to the harbour."

Good local shops for daily needs. Great local pubs. Camilo was a lovely place to stay, and a fantastic place to explore Devon from. May well re-book!
