    “The cottage owner went above and beyond to make sure our stay was very comfortable and a much needed break.”

    Lots of little (but significant things) were thought about, such as, setting up a work station and providing a fire starter kit. The owner was super responsive to any queries we sent and dealt with things very quickly.

The property

Offering a beautifully decorated base in the heart of Shaldon, just a stone's throw from the bustling town of Teignmouth and the beach, is this charming quirky mid-terrace cottage.

Cook's Cottage is a perfect setting for two couples holidaying together or a family of four, with an elegant period style and a fabulous colour palette, it will be a delight to return to each day.

Enter the front door and find the sitting roomon your left, with a wonderful mix of furnishings atop the parquet wood flooring, it's a lovely space, while the Smart TV with Sky can keep everyone entertained on a quiet evening.

Opposite this room is the dining room, with a country-style table to gather around and a pretty window seat looking out to the street, along with finely chosen artwork.

Continue through to the kitchen, with white units and wooden worktops, you can discover a host of appliances to assist you in rustling up some delicious food.

Serve up a summer feast outside at the outdoor dining table in the enclosed courtyard and relish a warm summer afternoon or evening, with this area being perfect for storing your bikes or paddle boards!

Follow the staircase up to the first floor and discover the beautiful bathroom, echoing a period property with a deep bath, complete with a rainfall shower over it, as well as a hand held shower, and a fabulous copper piping towel rail, surrounded by neat white tiling, it's a stunning space to freshen up in.

Catch up on your rest in either of the two king-size bedrooms, both featuring ample storage in antique-style furnishings and quaint window seats.

One bedroom is home to a unique driftwood headboard and can also be transformed into a twin bedroom due to its convenient zip/link feature, allowing the property to cater to different party styles easily.

Step out into the lovely village of Shaldon and find all you need on your doorstep, with the beach an easy walk away, Ness Cove Beach is mostly shingle with the beach graduating gently towards the sea, creating a great swimming area, with access to the shores via Smuggler's Tunnel.

Golfers can delight in a fine round at Shaldon Approach Golf Course whilst experiencing the stunning views of the coast from all 18 holes.

The village's history can be marvelled at when visiting Shaldon Castle which is set in Homeyard’s Botanical Gardens, you can explore the grounds and find the 'witch's cave', a small grotto made of Torquay limestone.

Head over the water by foot ferry or over the bridge to the bustling town of Teignmouth where all sorts of classic seaside amusements can be found, wander along the Grand Pier built in the mid-1800s, relax on Teignmouth Beach, have fun at Jurassic Adventure Golf, and take a great holiday snap with Teignmouth Lighthouse.

You are also within easy reach of the towns of Torquay, Paington and Totnes, where a wealth of eateries, arts and culture awaits.

Boasting a number of tourist attractions, including a small zoo, something your little ones will delight in, whilst you can explore the popular Shaldon Approach Golf Club and Shaldon Botanical Gardens.
