  • "Another outstanding stay"

  • "The Meeting House is a beautiful property and the location is so peaceful."

The views from the garden are amazing. We loved to sit and watch the clouds move over the hills and the cows munch the grass. You need your wits about you when driving around the narrow lanes but the location is worth the occasional reversing to let a car pass! Our host, Clive, was the ideal host. He was able to answer any questions and even provided extra blankets for our girls so they could snuggle up in the evenings. (It wasn't cold, they were just being teenagers!) I would highly recommend this place for a holiday in Dartmoor and we will try and visit again soon.

  • "A very lovely barn conversion, spacious, modern and comfortable."

We stayed as a couple but there is plenty of room for four, and we plan to go back with friends. Clive the host, was more than welcoming and took a genuine interest in how we were using our time. The garden is lovely and the views of the moor, stone circle and Tor to the east and south are lovely. The car stayed on the drive for four out of the six days, because so much historical interest and natural history is within walking distance. Lovely stuff. Thank you.

  • "A Lovely, peaceful place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle."

Easy access to the moors from the house, and Plenty of birds to see in the garden so take binoculars. My only criticism would be the heating system, I felt cold in the evenings upstairs, a throw would have been nice to cover me, I couldn't find any spare blankets so I ended up buying one. But we had a lovely stay and the cheese selection was a lovely thought.

Sorry that you felt cold. The air source heat pump system is designed to be run at a moderate temperature 24 hours a day rather than the bursts of heat from more traditional systems. Each room does however have an individual thermometer that can be increased if needed. I am sorry that I wasn't at the farm during your stay to show you how that works. There is also an electric radiator in the main bedroom. There are instructions for the heat pump controls in the guest pack but like a lot of these things almost impossible to understand! • "Everything was great, though as it was a last minute booking, we couldn't confirm it straight away."

The propert was everything we needed, and that location was beautiful. The only downside was the bed in the second bedroom. It ould have been nice to have a king size or superking bed. We had children with us so they unzipped the larger bed for them to use as single beds and we're not used to a standard double!

  • "What a lovely cottage, sympathetically renovated and tastefully decorated the Meeting House is a delightful place to stay."

The views are stunning and yes it's remote and up narrow winding lanes but this can be expected in Devon. The property is spotlessly clean, well equipped and the bed is spacious. The welcome platter of local cheeses was delicious. Clive the owner is a great character and very helpful. All in all a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

  • "A fabulous break in a lovely setting."

The hosts were very welcoming and supportive throughout our visit. The property was immaculate and comfortable high quality accommodation and facilities throughout. The cottage location itself is very hard to find… especially if arriving in the evening… and could be sign posted and described clearer given its position along a lengthy private road. At the end of the day it is a great cottage in a lovely location with a beautiful garden, fantastic views with cows and sheep grazing in the surrounding fields. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Thank you for completing your feedback. We are so glad you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed both the property and its location. We are sorry that you had difficulties in finding the property, it isn't possible to put up signs as the road is a local authority road and not a private road. We do advise in the directions we send out to all guests, using the What3Words app and we provide the three words, which will then bring you straight to the property. Property Owner
