  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Fowey Cottage, which was cosy and comfortable and exactly as described in the listing."

Was nice to have a couple of meals out in the garden too! The location of the house is great, with all the places we wanted to visit being within a 20 min drive. The cottage owners had kindly taken the trouble to send us a list of a few recommendations at our request, and we walked to the local Devon Dumpling pub for an excellent meal. The only changes I would recommend are perhaps a blind in the bathroom, maybe also a dishwasher in the kitchen (although that's just me being lazy!).

Very well-equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. A nice master bedroom with a very comfortable double bed. The garden is very private with a table and seating, just perfect for a morning coffee or pre-dinner drink. Nice easy access to the ring road for Brixham, Teignmouth and Dawlish. Devon Dumpling pub within walking distance for a drink and superb meals.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday in Torquay."

Fowey cottage was in a perfect spot. At first I thought it would be a bit noisy with being on a large estate but it wasn`t. The cottage was comfortable with large rooms. The double bed was comfy. The only things that let it down slightly were the steps up to the front door and the black painted steps at the back door into the garden. As you step out of the house into the sunlight the steps look like one large step and not the three steps that there are. A bit of white paint to define the edges wouldn`t go amiss. But overall a nice place to stay. As we had travelled almost 300 miles a welcome pack would have been appreciated.

  • "We found this cottage spacious, clean, comfortable and well-equipped."

Nice to have the garden. Good location away from the hustle of Torquay town/sea front/harbour but within easy reach by a very punctual half hourly bus service that stops virtually outside the property and terminates at the harbour. Good if you are holidaying without a car as we were. Co-op within five minutes walk and large Asda slightly further afield, still within walking distance. We enjoyed our short stay and this cottage was a good base for visiting Torquay, Brixham, Paignton and Babbacombe without a car.

Lots of utensils and was very happy to have a washing machine. The heating came on when needed and the electric fire came in handy when it was a bit chilly. There were plenty of shops nearby and lots of beaches and places to visit within half an hour.

  • "This bungalow was perfect for us."

There were 2 adults, a 12 year old and an 18 year old staying here. The whole place was spotless and was really comfortable. The kitchen had all the utensils, pans, pots etc to make self catering really do-able. There was a large fridge freezer and a large washing machine. These things made it so much better than staying in a caravan which is what we have done on previous holidays. There were fresh towels and all the bed linen was supplied. The outside space was particularly lovely. There was a private suntrap at the back with patio table and chairs and a bench and a lovely gravelled area. It was so nice to sit outside in the sun in the morning and have coffee. The bungalow has a private driveway for parking, which again was perfect. It is a quiet area but on a main bus route if you don't want to take the car. The local shops are a short walk away. There is a really good fish and chip shop that caters for all, including vegans (perfect for my daughter). There were even some board games and paperbacks in the property. There is a large tele with all the extra channels, and a dvd player. The bed has a memory foam mattress. There is a big Asda supermarket a few minutes away in the car and a Morrisons in Paignton. There is plenty to do nearby. Paignton Zoo is a really good day out. The beaches are lovely and there are loads of traditional seafront arcades to spend your money in! Totnes is a lovely little old fashioned town not too far away with a hippy, arty feel to it, lots of quaint shops and bakeries. All in all we would recommend the accommodation and the area for families and singles alike.
