  • "Housekeeper could not be contacted, spoke to Sykes who were very good, they could not cpntact the housekeeper either."

    Underside of the toilet seat couldnot be cleaned properly, it would appear it has not been cleaned for sometime. excellent location of property, other than above house and garden were well presented. Parking was fun all "cars" were cooperative. Not overlooked and views from front of house very pleasing. No details of "bin days" or what to put in what boxes.

  • "We found the beds a little on the small side - the top floor bedroom could have accommodated a wider bed."

    There were no instructions for the oven (only the top sheet that we could find). Place was a little cold on arrival although we could see it had been empty. Once we got to grips with the heating system though it was fine. The reason we have given a low score for "the accuracy" is that the door access code you (Sykes) supplied to us was out of date. The owners had changed the code and thay said they had informed you. We were left standing at the door having to make urgent phone calls on how to get in. This was far from satisfactory. Thank goodness it was not raining. We were fortunate that on arrival there was one parking space available. We think this could be a problem and the pre-arrival information needs to clearly state the alternatives. Reading it when in the cottage is a little too late. But I think it should be made clear that parking can be difficult.

    Thank you for your valued feedback. I had given the new door code well in advance and double checked it was passed on to you. Sorry there was a breakdown in that communication. I understood you would have received in advance of your stay an info sheet with suggestions for other parking areas nearby if needed. I'll check that out. Included with that should have been my recommendations for eating places, great walking from the front door and other attractions of Sidmouth. Thank you for the cleanliness rating. Sidmouth is an elegant seaside resort on the south Devon stretch of Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site of great natural beauty. Here is where the River Sid cuts through the Devon hills to meet the sea at Lyme Bay, creating a clean pebbly beach, giving way to golden sands at low tide backed by dramatic red cliffs creating a safe family beach with rockpools and safe bathing.
