  • "The owner assured us the agreed maintenance would not impact our stay or intrude the properties privacy, view, seating area and parking."

We agreed to accept a small reduction 7% in the rental cost The installation of the scaffolding and the commencement of the work was catastrophic and resulted in a totally unacceptable situation and caused us to leave 4 days early The Coast and Country team in Salcombe couldn’t have been more helpful The owner has rejected our request for reimbursement of the rental for the lost days

Hi Christopher, Thanks for your feedback, and we understand you have had some interruptions during your stay. We always try to organise maintenance ‘out of season’ to avoid any impact to our guests- be this replacing the pontoon mooring, repairing the sea wall or internal rennovations like the recent kitchen re-fit. In this case the outside decoration was planned for the end of the summer to take advantage of the better weather. When the clash was identified, back in May, we asked C&C to reach out to explain the situation, and gave the option to cancel the booking, chose an alternative property, or accept a discount for any potential inconvenience that may occur as a result of scaffolding being erected on the property. We hope that this £200 discount was able to pay for you to go out to another venue and enjoy coffee, a meal whilst the balcony was out of action. We are glad you had one of the best weeks of weather in the first week of September without any interruptions (the scaffold erection was delayed), and only sorry that with the turn in the weather, and the planned and communicated inconvenience of the scaffolding led to you deciding to cut your 2 week visit a few days short. We hope Salcombe delivered otherwise and hope you enjoy future stays in one of the many great properties in the area. Kind regards, Amanda and Duncan Property Owner

Parking by property no problem out of season but maybe tight in high season. Very clean property with good kitchen which has best views. Bathrooms clean. Beds clean & new but mattress a bit soft for us as firm mattress our preference. Would recommend this property Salcombe is special place this is the nicest holiday let we have stayed in Salcombe

  • "This is a great property in a great location with all of the facilities you could need including parking and a mooring."

We do not like the setup now that Coast and Country have been acquired by Sykes, everything is much more contrived and complicated

  • "Stayed at 7 island quay now for 8 years, everything now looking tired, main bed needs changing, big stain on lounge carpet, out side chairs, only 3 and one broke on day 1, so with 4 people not ideal."

Great property and location however for the money that you now charge, so of it needs to be invested back into the property.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled you love the property and the location. We are delighted to inform you that a full remodeling of the downstairs and sitting room are now complete, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

Not enough chairs for 5 people to sit on outside. Apart from that a really very enjoyable stay and hope to come back again.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are thrilled to let you know that the property has been refurbished including new outside chairs. We hope you can return to enjoy Salcombe again. Property Owner

  • "The garage is not very practical size-wise but we squeezed in my daughter’s Hyundai i10 and parked our V50 elsewhere."

The mooring was so near and enabled us to enjoy our boat very easily. The view from the house is gorgeous and great to be so close to shops and restaurants. A lovely property.
