  • "The property was in an ideal location for us, On the beach almost."

The bus stop for the Dartmouth and Kingsbridge bus was about 100 yards from the apartment. Nice views all the way. Bus Pass or £2 fair. There was plenty of car parking space allocated to the complex. With a fob operated security barrier. The apartment was modern and clean, spread over 3 floors so you had 2 good bedrooms, 2 bath rooms, large lounge and up to date kitchen.

  • "This is the second time we’ve stayed at 17 at the Beach."

We love the location and the property has everything we need. Our only criticism is that the air fresheners in the main bedroom were very strong so we moved them to the bathroom and the dining chairs were a bit wobbly. Very minor things. The property is very clean and tidy. We will definitely be back again!

  • "The central heating is timed to shut down at 10."

00pm, the programmer is sited behind a locked door so there is no means to overide it . The sitting room uvpc window with worn hinges hidden behind the venetian blinds results in a loud powerful cold draught requiring at times in having to turn up the television volume. Having to sit there watching it with your coat on after 10pm because the central heating has gone off is just not acceptable. Oh! I almost forgot an alocated parking space is available located adjacent to the property complete with a security barrier and access code. Extremely convenient you may think, well that is if you are happy to see the faulty security barrier stuck permanently in the up position allowing a large metal wastage bin to run under it and to smash in to the side of your car causing £750 worth of damage......... and the flat owners response "you parked at your own risk!" Thanks for the advice..

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you were disappointed with your stay at number 17 at the Beach.  We are very conscious of our environment and try to be as energy efficient as possible, that being said, our contact details can be found in the blue file, and we would have been more than happy to adjust the timer for the central heating if you had asked.  As the property is right next to the beach we can experience strong winds when there are adverse weather conditions, but have never had a guest complain that the windows cause a noise so loud the tv needs to be turned up, something I will look into at the weekend. The car park is available for all guests staying at the apartment, but the parking is not allocated. It is there for guests to use on a first come first served basis and we are sorry that your car was involved in an accident whilst parked in the car park. The barrier was set in the up position as we had experienced some erratic behaviour from it, and therefore thought it better to be up so that guests could get in and out before the engineer arrived. The council who emptied the bins failed to lock the wheels when they emptied them, causing the issue. Cars are parked in the car park at the owners risk (like the vast majority of car parks you will visit, hence our suggestion that your insurance company contact the council.  I do hope that your experience will not deter you from returning to this wonderful area in South Devon and hope you may consider staying with us again. • "This property was a very convenient place for us to stay whilst walking the coast path."

It was very comfortable, good amount of information and provided almost everything you would need. I was slightly perplexed that there was only one pan lid for 4 pans but if you aren’t going to cook as we did that would probably not be of bother. This apartment was very well organised with the lounge on the top floor, kitchen facilities in the middle and the bedroom at the bottom. For us this meant no noise issues when one of us is up later and the other rises earlier.

  • "We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay."

Owners need to keep on top of maintenance.Carpets were very stained really need a clean especially as some people bring pets! Some of the kitchen cupboards doors need mending. Plug in the ensuite washbasin was broken once pushed down it will not come back up again. Also a small point but only providing hand wash in one bathroom and only one toilet roll in each is a bit mean. We stay in cottages all the time and most places provide the basics of soap and plenty of toilet rolls.

  • "Our stay at 17 at the beach was wonderful."

On arriving and seeing the outside of the building we did feel a little concerned. This is the only negative comment we have. The outside is in need of painting. However, we were not disappointed once inside. The accommodation was spotless, spacious, comfortable and a perfect place to come home to. Set in the most beautiful part of South Devon we would certainly have a return trip . One of our best holidays to date. Thankyou.

" Easy and direct access to the SW coast path plus a few lovely cafes, sweet shop and bars a minute’s walk away (cake in the Billy Can highly recommended!). The property had everything we needed and was very cosy. Plenty of storage for personal items and some cupboard space, the shower was great (will miss now I am home) the parking was no problem as the barrier was in use and always 4/5 spaces left, might be different in August but ok early July. All in all, a great stay and would very much recommend.

Very comfortable cottage with everything we needed. Perfect location so close to the beach and the coastal path. Lovely and quiet, friendly locals, delicious fish and chips on the beach. We swam 5 days out of 7, took our blow up kayak and had fun ‘trying’ to stand up on a borrowed paddle board! Really dog friendly and Bonnie our Cockapoo loves it as much as we do. It’s our Devon home from home and we’ll definitely be back!

  • "The flat and location are great."

We have visited At The Beach flats three times now. This time though, parking was really difficult. The car park was over-subscribed with no "reserved" parking and the nearest available parking was half a mile away - at a cost - when we arrived due to the beach being really busy. We had to wait a long while before we could bring the car close enough to unload. We never we able to park in the car park all week.

  • "Codes provided for car park were incorrect."

Key safe wouldn't open on our arrival. Someone had to be called out which wasn't ideal. One of our party was unable to use the shower cubicle due to the door only opening partway. This needs reviewing. Any larger person, also for example someone well into their pregnancy, would not be able to use the shower. Would recommend changing the door to be fully opened and not just one partition. The accommodation was lovely otherwise, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit this area of Devon.

The only one criticism would be the washer/dryer. Although the manual was there it would be useful if an idiots guide could be put together, as I could not work out how to continue drying my washing once the wash and wear cycle had finished :( and I'm usually good with things like that. Our dog was welcome in the apartment and a nice little touch was the duvet cover with dogs on. It didn't go unnoticed :). The only thing that let our break down was the weather, which was in now way the fault of 17 at the beach. In fact it was a godsend that the accommodation was as perfect as it was, to spend time in. Highly recommended :)

It is located in a beautiful area, plenty of beach walks , good pubs and cafes . The apartment itself is lovely inside, very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The weather initially was appalling , wet and very wild but as the week was about recharging our batteries it was great to curl up and read in peace!! When the sun came out, we loved the beach and cliff top walks, all dog friendly as are the pubs and cafes. Would recommend the Billy can for bacon and egg rolls and cream teas, tables outside watching the world go by and the duckery (slapton ley) also the Start Inn for a pint by the beach and delicious fish bar meals, the staff at both were excellent.

  • "A fabulous apartment within two mins of the beach and the lovely beachfront cafe's and pub."

We had a relaxing week exploring the area which has breathtaking views around every headland, and some lovely food in a number of the local pubs. The apartment was really clean, comfortable and warm, a great place to come back to and relax after a busy day. The only thing missing was a beach view as the apartment is around the back of the building, saying that the beach is very easy to access and a great place for Seal spotting in the evening, and as there are no street lights star gazing at night. We will definitely be back. The free and secure car park is an added bonus with a keypad access to lift the barrier, although the walking access gap is a struggle to get through when you are trying to take suitcases and bags of food from the car to the apartment, we opted to pass them under the barrier then walk around to pick them up at the other side.

The key entry box was very difficult to open. Kitchen was difficult to eat in for more than one person and not really feasible to carry food upstairs, no coffee pods provided and no recycling bag for rubbish. Some of the bulbs in the inset lights in the lounge and the cream lantern table lamp not working. The refuse was piled up in the car park as the commercial bins were full to overflowing. No where to put toiletries in bathroom and shower. Bedrooms were lovely and everywhere clean.
