Nearby Barnstaple offers attractions such as the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon, along with a Pannier Market and a great selection of cafés, shops and restaurants.

For a day beside the sea, the immaculate sandy beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Instow are all within easy reach and keen walkers will be spoilt for choice by 180 miles of coastal paths to peruse along the spectacular Jurassic coastline.
