This traditional, semi-detached, thatched cottage is in the quiet village of Tawstock, three miles from the town of Barnstaple in North Devon.

This Barnstaple cottage is believed to date back to the 15th century and has many period features including exposed beams, slanting floors and an inglenook fireplace housing a woodburning stove.

This Barnstaple cottage has two welcoming bedrooms and a light and airy kitchen with dining area, leading out to the pretty cottage garden, where you will find a swing and large seating area, an ideal place to sit and relax while listening to the sounds of the countryside.

Across the road from the cottage is an additional 3/4 acre garden with a selection of fruit trees and spectacular countryside views.

There are some lovely rural walks from this Barnstaple cottage, along the River Taw valley, which lead to the market town of Barnstaple on the coast, from where you can take a boat trip across to the mystic island of Lundy.

Barnstaple has an interesting pannier market and magnificent floral displays for which it has won a gold award for the prettiest floral town in Europe.

A short drive from this Barnstaple cottage is the lovely hillside village of Clovelly, plus you will find long sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Woolacombe and Saunton.
