  • "Lovely cottage with all the amenities you need."

It was well maintained and very clean. The bed is very comfortable. My only criticism is that the sofas are very low and sink even lower when sat on. I have to say that we average 2 cottages a year and find this an issue in most cottages. We are only 5fi 7 and 5 ft 10 so we are not giants but usually struggle getting comfortable. Perhaps cottages should take this into consideration.

  • "A beautiful barn conversion in a semi-remote location but within easy reach of Exeter."

Look out in the early morning to see sheep, cows and horses and in the evening for incredible starry skies due to lack of light pollution. Comfortable beds for a great nights' sleep and a cosy atmosphere in the living room area. Access to a patio and lawned garden with comfortable reclining garden chairs made the most of our September stay. A couple of minor issues to mention : instructions for the electric hob and oven would be useful (we use gas at home), we couldn't find a hairdryer (usually provided), the bathrooms lack shaver points (not that we needed them). Thanks for a great stay

Within a short distance of the A30, therefore Exeter city and many beautiful coastal resorts (Exmouth, Topsham, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth, Torquay, Townes and Dawlish etc) are easily reached by car. The cottage is very well equipped and spotlessly clean throughout. The hosts are friendly and helpful and have thought of all the needs of visitors; their welcome gifts of fresh eggs, Prosecco and flowers are a lovely touch.

The cottage was SPOTLESS and the bedsheets and beds were very comfortable, clean and of good quality. All the essential cooking equipment was available in the kitchen, super outdoor space (although we did discover a wasps nest under the willow tree which maybe should be removed as there were a lot of wasps in the garden and my daughter actually got stung twice in the night after leaving the windows open. However, understand we are in the country but local nests should probably be removed off site. Very lovely owners, never made to feel we were invading their space despite living next door :) lovely welcome and the added chilled Prosecco and eggs were a very kind welcome…. Thank you! The cottage was only 30 minutes from any beach, National Trust or Dartmoor National Park. Exeter was only down the road too, so perfect location for visiting Devon. Recommendations: - hot tub would be lovely round the corner where the picnic bench is situated. Very private spot and you could charge more for the cottage with the added use of the hot tub

The property

Tucked away on the outskirts of the pretty village of Tedburn St Mary is Great Huish Farm.

Approximately seven miles from the historic city of Exeter, this 40 acre sheep farm is just a short drive away from the north eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park.

The original ploughman's quarters have been expertly converted from a 16th century long barn where the heavy horses were stabled, to two superb, adjoining holiday homes.

The Furrow, the larger of the two, retains much of the character of the original barn with ancient beams and sloping ceilings.

The living space is bright, airy and open plan, complete with wood burning stove and oak floors and encompasses a stylish kitchen area.

A winding staircase leads to two bedrooms, one of which has glazed doors overlooking the pony field below.

To the side of the property is a lovely secluded patio with garden furniture, this leads to a lawned garden, which is shared with its neighbour, The Yoke.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
