The hosts were welcoming and friendly and gave us some good pointers on accessing the local roads safely. The dog proof garden and use of an adjacent field for dog walking added to the enjoyment of our stay. The nearby village has an excellent Pub and well stocked village shop where we were able to buy all the things we needed, saving trips into larger towns for shopping. We were very happy with our stay and would look to book again when we visit Devon.

Very comfortable bed and sofa, very well converted barn. Mr and Mrs Bradley friendly and helpful. Only improvement I can think of, is to do with coming home there in the dark, as I did each evening: the light across the car park only came on once, so I was feeling my way which is a bit scary at 76! Also I think they should paint a white line on the first step down at the side of the cottage, it would be easy to miss it as it is.

The property

Tucked away on the outskirts of the pretty village of Tedburn St Mary is Great Huish Farm.

Approximately seven miles from the historic city of Exeter, this 40 acre sheep farm is just a short drive away from the north eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park.

The original ploughman's quarters have been expertly converted from a 16th century long barn where the heavy horses were stabled to two superb, adjoining holiday homes.

The Yoke, the smaller of the two, retains much of the character of the original barn with ancient beams and sloping ceilings.

The living space is bright, airy and open plan, complete with wood burning stove and oak floors and encompasses a stylish kitchen area.

A winding staircase leads to the pretty bedroom which enjoys sweeping views across open fields.

Outside, guests have their own patio overlooking the lawned garden which is shared with its neighbour, The Furrow.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
