  • "Generally the property was satisfactory, however it is starting to look tired and needs redecorating."

    A number of the kitchen unit doors are loose and do not fit correctly. The main bedroom TV only receives analogue signals which are no longer transmitted, therefore this needs replacing. The main bathroom toilet flush is does not work all the time. A number of the kitchen trays were dirty and had not been cleaned properly. The description states that Netflix is available on the main TV, however this is PIN protected therefore could not be accessed.

    It felt like someone's home more than a holiday rental cottage which was a definite plus. e.g. It had Sky TV and useful things in drawers (rather than just the bare minimum) Nice position, with good views of Thurlestone and friendly neighbours. It could possibly do with an extra drinks fridge.

    A welcome back would be a good idea, considering there are no shops within a few miles so it is quite isolated. Also, please don’t give the impression that the property is a stone’s throw from the Thurlestone hotel and pub. It’s a drive rather than a walk, away. All in all a lovely few days thank you.

  • "This is a beautiful apartment, comfortable, spacious, really very equipped."

    The view is lovely snd it’s just a short walk to a beautiful beach. We spent most of our time very locally. Good walk to Hope Cove and Bantham too. It’s helpful that the kitchen is well equipped as there are only a few eating out options (all excellent but busy and not cheap), no takeaway/delivery and the only shop closes early (main supermarkets aplenty in Kingsbridge) so it’s ideal for those happy to cook at home.

‘Thurlestone Beach’ is a stunning development of luxury apartments set within landscaped gardens.

Situated just half a mile from the village of Thurlestone, and just a few minutes walking distance from the beach and South West Coast Path, it’s the perfect location for a coastal retreat.

5 Thurlestone Beach is a spacious ground floor, west-facing apartment, featuring headland and sea views.

The entrance leads to a spacious hallway, and through to the open-plan living area.

Well-equipped, the kitchen features a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, gas oven and hob, perfect for rustling up meals for your family after an adventurous day out.

Separate to the kitchen is the utility room, with a washing machine, tumble dryer and bread maker where you can freshen up your clothes and towels after a sandy day at the beach.

Make your way to the sitting area to unwind for the evening, hosting a large sofa, armchairs and a 40” TV with Sky and a DVD player to keep you entertained in the evenings; there is an array of music, films and games included in the large storage cupboard.

Gather as a family to the rear of the room, where you will find a dining table with seating six where you can savour a delicious home-cooked meal.

From here, French doors lead to the covered patio area, perfect for alfresco dining and watching sunsets as you toast to a fantastic holiday.

You will also benefit from 1.5 acres of communal gardens, accessed directly from the garden and including a sheltered sunken garden and barbecue area, leaving plenty of space for your four-legged friend to stretch their legs.

When sleep calls, make your way to the master bedroom which enjoys views reaching across the gardens and to the sea beyond; tastefully furnished, there is a king-size bed, an armchair, and ample clothes storage, along with a TV and en-suite shower room with a large powerful shower to rinse off under when returning from the beach.

The second bedroom has two single beds, whilst the third bedroom has bunk beds suitable for children and young teens, providing flexible sleeping arrangements for all party makeups.

Completing the interior is a family bathroom with a bath, and shower over, so you can choose to soak when a shower just isn't indulgent enough while on holiday.

For days out while at the apartment, take a stroll to the nearby beach and try your hand at some watersports, or perhaps just sunbathe with a nice picnic.

Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to discover Thurlestone Golf Course just a stone's throw away from the apartment, boasting fantastic sea views and a luscious green 18-hole course.

Just a scenic drive away will take you to Overbeck's a museum showcasing an early 1900s home, where you can also take a relaxing stroll around the perfectly-kept gardens.

History buffs may also enjoy an afternoon at the Cookworthy Museum, showing generations of work, play and home life under within permanent and special exhibitions.

If you are travelling with younger guests, why not venture out to Woodlands Family Theme Park and spend a day playing in the playgrounds, letting your thrill-seeking side loose on the rides, and getting up-close with the zoo animals.

Before heading back to the apartment, treat yourself to a meal out at one of the nearby eateries; The Trevilder offers fine dining in a gorgeous setting, while The Village Inn offers a contemporary pub grub menu.

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
