  • "House was nice and large and generally laid out to a high standard."

However, there were several things not working (e.g. the latch to the wardrobe, light in bathroom and a shower). Instructions to the flat were not very clear. There were also no instructions on to how to heat the house which was not very warm. The house was also on a quite a busy road so 2 of the bedrooms had the sound of traffic passing by, so it was lucky at least the back room was away from the road. The biggest complaint was the impracticality of the kitchen work surface, where the house instructions said that the work surface should not get wet. As this was almost impossible in terms of cooking and doing the washing up, this made home cooking not really a viable option.

The owner was lovely and really accommodating, I would say the property is in a serious need of a repaint though and a deep clean on the carpets other than that it was fine probably would not pay that much in the future for it though

  • "We had a positive stay and the cottage was lovely, we would deffinatley stay there again if we returned to Torquay."

The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well as it was so peaceful. The welcome basket was nice touch and the neighbour was very kind and friendly.

  • "The cottage was ideal for my elderly parents, it was very clean."

The owner had thought of everything. The house had been done out to a high spec. The only problem we encountered it was a little to far for my parents to walk into town or the beach. We drove them and it worked out perfect. After the Sunday the weather was lovely. We visited Paignton Brixham and we enjoyed the steam train ride to Kindswear, caught the ferry across to Dartmouth and a stroll round. it was a lovely day out. We have recommended this cottage to our family and friends. Torbay is a lovely area we hope to visit again in the near future.

  • "Had a great week in Stanley Cottage, Torquay."

The cottage was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great holiday. The owner left a small hamper, which was great to walk into after an 8hr drive, and very much appreciated. It is located in a great position, and we regularly walked down to the beach/harbour area (family age ranged from 10yrs to 72yrs). There are also plenty of buses that will take you there if you don't fancy the walk or drive. We got an all day bus ticket for all five of us for only £10, which I believe takes you right around the Torbay area (saves parking charges and hassle of driving). The owner of the cottage arranged parking in a secure area in the Church over the road (chargeable), as there is no parking outside the cottage. (1hr loading/unloading) We used the Chinese takeaway just down from the Church twice and we found it very nice. The boat trip to Brixham is recommended (£17 return for 5 people). The model village in Babbacombe is also worth a visit, as is Paignton Zoo. We had great days out in Brixham, Dartmouth and Totnes. My son is already asking if we can go back.

My family and I constantly tripped up over these!

Although there is no parking space it was easy to get a permit covering a whole week at nearby public car parks .

  • "Cottage was better than our expectations, was well laid out and comfortable."

It was very clean and the welcome pack was much appreciated. It was a longer walk into the centre of Torquay than expected however acceptable. A very enjoyable stay.

  • "The cottage is beautiful and the pictures really don't do it justice."

The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome by leaving a welcome hamper with milk, tea, coffee etc. There was also local attraction leaflets as well as fresh towels in every room and shower gel and shampoo in the bathrooms. I would definitely recommend staying at this cottage.

Perfect family holiday home from home. 20 mins walk to the beach, marina, Ferris wheel, many restaurants and fresh fish n chippy’s to choose from. With 2 wee kiddies to entertain we found Dinosaur world good fun, local park 10 mins walk from the cottage, boat trip to the quirky town of Brixam. Splendid hippy vibe of Totnes with a stunning castle and red bricked church. Beaches – Goodrington, Broadsands, Torquay, to name a few! The local swimming pool is 15 mins walk from Stanley cottage, fab for kids with a super soft play café and Starbucks for the adults. The cottage was extremely clean, had everything you needed to make it a home away from home and the location was spot on. Steph the owner went the extra mile with her attention to detail, we even had a welcome basket with a bottle of wine. Definitely recommend a stay and we're going back soon. Lovely holiday let.
