  • "Rural location."

Pleasant gardens and feeling of space. Beautiful views Responsive staff. Comprehensive inventory.

  • "The surroundings of Rose Cottage are beautiful, but arriving along the single track Pudleylake Rd which has no passing places is not for the faint-hearted."

Outside Rose Cottage appears poorly maintained with flaking paint on the front door. Also, the outdoor furniture provided was in need on tlc. There is a discrepancy between the description of the interior of Rose Cottage and the reality. Particularly the photographs of the three-piece suit, which looks to be in good condition, but in fact is grimy and uncomfortable. The kitchen is small and lacks storage space, and the units are in poor condition, as are the utensils provided. Upstairs the floorboards creek alarmingly with every step. The bed in the main bedroom was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. Hence, one night was one too many.

  • "The cottage was clean and tidy, however, the shower did not work despite there being plenty of hot water for the bath."

The front door needed to be slammed hard to close it and the chairs were showing their age. The cottage needs to be maintained and updating.

  • "The welcome goodies were very good and much appreciated but."

......... Access to the cottage proves difficult. Had to reverse 3 times for a total of 0.75 miles down the narrow access lane. Hot water is scalding and as such is very dangerous. Shower is extremely poor. No water flow to speak of. Very difficult to set correct temperature of water. Shower bracket held in place by a wood screw through the plastic fitting. Downstairs smoke alarm went off at 1.30 am. No cause found. Cottage furniture is tired, settee is uncomfortable, upgrade required.

  • "Beautiful grounds, lovely clean and tidy cottage."

Well equipped. Nice and quiet, good location. The addition of the welcome pack and the leaflets were very welcome. The only 2 downsides for us was the shower and the mattress. The shower was hot but a weak flow and we could feel the springs in the mattress.
