  • "Amazing second stay, beautiful clean lodge in quiet surroundings."

Loved the fresh eggs on site. We will definitely stay again.

Thank you so much shame about the weather but at least you were cosy. Look forward to welcoming you again. All the best Team Twelve Oaks. Property Owner

  • "An excellent chalet, we had a bad experience with the last one we rented being cold, but Alder Lodge is warm and comfortable, well insulated with good heating."

Everything works well and is fitted out to a good standard. There are great views all around and good access from the approach roads. The site managers Andrew and Clare were helpful, it's a well-run site. The location is ideal with good access to the coastal areas and also to Dartmoor. We look forward to staying there again in future.

  • "February break: Excellent accommodation in a lovely location that is no more than 30min drive to rest of the beautiful English Rivera locations such as Torquay, Brixham."

Very kind that fresh eggs and homemade cupcakes were there on arrival. We continued to buy their fresh chicken eggs for our stay. Accommodation was clean and ready for our stay. Central heating also kept us lovely and warm and the kitchen is well stocked. Our daughter also loved the park area and watching horses be lead out to the feild daily. Only thing it lists is furniture and bbq on the decking area which wasn’t there for our stay, I assume this is due to the time of year. However we had a few fresh Sunny Spring like days and would have happily sat out for a bit or even cooked on the bbq. Overall would recommend to everyone. Lovely site and friendly staff. We hope to return.

Aww what a shame we were caught out with the weather being so nice if you had said we could of got the furniture we do pack it away in the winter months sorry. Property Owner

  • "The quality of this lodge is superb and it was very clean."

The views are also lovely as were the chocolate muffins. The WiFi wasn't working when we arrived but this was put right very quickly and we had no problems using this during our stay. However there are hookups for caravans right outside the lodge and this would seriously impact both the views and the privacy of the lodge if there were caravans there - we went off season so they were empty when we were there. And just a couple of small points - it would be nice to have soap in both bathrooms on arrival, perhaps provide 5 dishwasher tablets instead of 2 and provide a couple of tablets for the washing machine? However we would happily return to this lodge

Thank you for your feedback, which we always welcome. We have never had any complaints about the hook ups outside the property with or without a caravan present. We do include liquid soap for the bathrooms which is included in our welcome pack which we feel is a suitable gesture for a self catering property. We look forward to welcoming you back. Alder lodge had every thing you could wish for,for a holiday, extremely clean, however a short way away from the front of the lodge there are electric hook ups for tents,I like the previous holiday maker would not be pleased to have a tent in front of the lodge, making a noise late at night,no were in the advert for lodge does it say about the electric hook ups for tents, and you can't see any in the photo of the lodge, bit sly in my opinion,I wouldn't book the place again, which is a shame as the lodge itself is lovely

  • "Lovely quiet site with glorious views from the Lodges."

Very comfortable lodge with all mod cons. Beds are never quite as comfortable as home but fine. Nice little shop with their own meat which was great. Good BBQ on our own patio. 2 really lovely evenings with those great views. Unfortunately the cafe on the site was closed as the chef had left. That was a shame but not the site fault. Would have just been the icing on the cake. Perhaps next time.

  • "Alder Lodge was lovely."

On arrival there was fresh milk / eggs four homemade cupcakes and treats for our dog. This was such a lovely gesture and appreciated thank you A couple if points for future reference. The double mattress in the main bedroom was extremely uncomfortable there were springs digging in our backs etc. We did point this out to the site owners who gave us two duvets to put on top of the mattress. Slightly helped, however we would only book this lodge again if the mattress was changed to a new/decent quality mattress. The lodge itself was clean, However the outside was dirty and full of cobwebs (I spent 30 minutes or so, going round the whole of the outside lodge sweeping the cobwebs/dirt etc from the windows/seating area/round the lights/railings. Some cushions on the sofas would have been nice.

Thank you for your feedback, we have spoken to the owners and they are looking into replacing the mattresses in the cottage and hope they will be able to action this soon. we are glad to hear you had a nice stay otherwise. Property Owner

Arrived at the lodge and received a very warm welcome from the staff. We entered the lodge which was warm and spotlessly clean. Furnishings were lovely and of very good quality. There was everything you would need to be able to enjoy your break. We were also left some free-range eggs which were delicious and a bottle of milk alongside tea, coffee and sugar which was very welcome after a long journey. The site was peaceful and well maintained and I would imagine it to be a fabulous place to be in the height of the season with the great facilities it has. I would most definitely recommend anyone to try this holiday lodge and I would most definitely make a return visit sometime in the future. Thanks for a great week!
