Warm your toes by the electric fire, as you cosy up on one of the plush grey sofas on a cold winter's night, or spend warm summer evenings soaking up the last of the sunshine in the well-manicured gardens as you breathe in the salty sea air and embrace your magnificent surroundings.

Climb the staircase to the first floor and admire the nautical charm of the airy family bathroom, as you relax and unwind with a soak in the tub, or delight in a brisk morning shower ahead of an action-packed day.

Retire to the homely double bedroom with an attractive oak bedframe and an abundance of storage, or discover a quaint twin bedroom where you can tuck-in the children and send them off to sleep with their favourite bedtime story.

When ready to tear yourself away from this restful abode, be sure to head to the centre of Watchet for a stroll around the marina, and watch as colourful boats bob peacefully in the waters whilst indulging in a mouth-watering portion of fish and chips.

Learn of the town’s rich maritime history with a tour of the Watchet Boast Museum, or a visit to the Watchet Harbour Lighthouse.

See the fortress remains of Daws Castle, or stop by the village of Washford and uncover the 15th century monastery remains of Cleeve Abbey.

Explore the luscious green landscapes of Exmoor National Park and Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with awe-inspiring hikes and exhilarating bike rides, or experience an animal encounter like never before with the North Devon Hawk Walks.

Admire the gorgeous gardens of the National Trust owned Fyne Court and sink your toes into the soft white sands of Doniford Beach.

About the location

Minehead 9 miles.

Watchet is a delightful, small Somerset harbour town with a maritime history going back over two millennia, where visitors may enjoy the variety of quaint shops on offer and watch the boats in the marina. Watchet attracts railway enthusiasts from all around, as The West Somerset Railway, twenty miles of preserved steam railway, passes through Watchet and continues through stunning scenery to the coastal town of Minehead, approximately nine miles away. There are superb walks along the coast from Watchet, while towards St Audries in the east, the Quantock Hills rise to 1,000 feet above the sea and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west, within easy reach. Explore the many pretty coastal and inland villages including Porlock, with its steep hill and pretty winding streets, Dunster with its dramatic castle perched above the historic village and the busy resort of Minehead with its sandy beach, golf course and traditional seaside attractions. This is an excellent choice of holiday destination for rural beauty, dramatic coastline and splendid walking.
