Stayed at this modern two bedroom property in May. Looks small from the front but spacious inside. Has all modern facilities. Small decked back garden that allows you to see over the Bristol channel and back towards Watchet harbour. Has one parking space outside, allowing you to leave the car and take fairly short walks to the cobbled beach on West Street, the harbour and esplande. Tried to book up again on August but due to the holiday season it price was significantly higher (£350 more). The property does get let to pet owners, (pet owners ourselves) reported to letting agency that the cleaning hadn't quite hit the mark. Would still like to back in the future.

The property

Fossils Reach, in the historic harbour town of Watchet is an aptly named modern mid-terraced home, set in a small cul-de-sac just a few hundred yards from the beach.

Rich in reptile remains and ammonites, the pebble beach is a great place to while away the day relaxing, beachcombing or hunting for fossils in the rock pools.

This contemporary holiday home is tastefully furnished, with a combined lounge/diner, smart kitchen and WC on the ground floor.

Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms; a double with sea views and a twin.

At the rear of the house, the neat gravelled garden has a spacious timber-decked area from which you can enjoy views of the sea.

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the house is a small adventure playground - ideal for young children, and a range of shops, pubs, tearooms and restaurants all within easy walking distance mean you can leave the car behind and take a gentle stroll to the marina, or enjoy an evening meal in the town.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area. Ground floor cloakroom with basin and WC.

About the location

Minehead 9 miles.

Watchet is a delightful, small Somerset harbour town with a maritime history going back over two millennia, where visitors may enjoy the variety of quaint shops on offer and watch the boats in the marina. Watchet attracts railway enthusiasts from all around, as The West Somerset Railway, twenty miles of preserved steam railway, passes through Watchet and continues through stunning scenery to the coastal town of Minehead, approximately nine miles away. There are superb walks along the coast from Watchet, while towards St Audries in the east, the Quantock Hills rise to 1,000 feet above the sea and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west, within easy reach. Explore the many pretty coastal and inland villages including Porlock, with its steep hill and pretty winding streets, Dunster with its dramatic castle perched above the historic village and the busy resort of Minehead with its sandy beach, golf course and traditional seaside attractions. This is an excellent choice of holiday destination for rural beauty, dramatic coastline and splendid walking.
