Thornesmill Barn is a roomy cottage converted from a single-storey barn in a quiet cul de sac on the edge of Watchet.
Beautifully done and welcoming, it provides excellent accommodation for families or friends.
The big hall leads you up a couple of steps to the kitchen, all well equipped with range style cooker and large table and chairs, together with a glazed lean-to off it.
The sitting room is an equally spacious place to relax, with its characterful lofty ceiling, gas fire, leather sofas and French windows which lead you out to the garden.
The three bedrooms are all smart and great places for sleeping off days on the beach or exploring the area.
On sunny days, chill out in the enclosed garden with flowers and lawn, and perhaps fire up the barbecue and eat alfresco at the picnic table.
Wander into the town to explore the shops, restaurants and bustling marina, or go to the seaside at nearby Doniford Beach or Helwell Beach, a twenty minute walk but worth it for the fossils you may find.
Blue Anchor beach is a little further and is popular with families.
Take a trip to Minehead on the wonderful steam railway, Britain’s longest, or go walking or cycling in the Quantock Hills.
With the best attractions of Somerset within easy reach, Thornesmill Barn is a fine base for a fantastic holiday.
