  • "This was our second time at The Drift."

It is a wonderful house, fully equipped with everything you would need whilst on holiday. The rear garden with upper seating areas is stunning. Also, ideally located to access the nearby beaches.

  • "We had a wonderful week at The Drift (23-30 Sept)."

The property was warm, welcoming and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could need AND THEN MORE and the welcome pack was lovely, thank you, however, maybe a pack of butter could be included to go with the loaf of bread and the milk. The beds were very comfortable too (comfier than my own bed!) and the bathrooms like everything, were super clean. The outside seating and dining areas are fabulous, providing amazing views of the sunsets and surrounding countryside. Sadly the weather wasn't really warm enough in the evenings to sit out. Good enough reason to visit again during the summer! Sadly the village pub closed down the week before we arrived and if we wanted to eat out in the evening, we had to drive 4 - 5 miles to nearby pubs in Chivenor, Ilfracombe and Georgeham. Hopefully, a new buyer will be found soon for the pub. Stuart and Pauline, thank you for providing a beautiful home with all the attention to detail and also for the very comprehensive guest guide. The alternative route was really helpful to avoid the roadworks. We would highly recommend The Rock Inn at Georgeham for food. Very friendly staff and an awesome chef. Not cheap but in a class of its own.

Many thanks for your wonderful feedback, we have not tried the Rock Inn, so will have to make a visit when we are down next. So glad you had a wonderful time in North Devon and enjoyed the area so much, Kindest regards Stuart &Pauline Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous stay at The Drift!"

House was stunning, and well equipped with amazingly comfy beds! The view from the terrace was beautiful - especially in the evening with the sun going down and sitting on the top terrace with a cold cheeky drink ! A parasol or sail on the terrace or seating in the lower garden would have made it a super 10 out of 10..but understand high winds from the valley may be decision not to have these. We were happy to sit on on the lawned area in the shade... but seats for us oldies would have been perfect. Fabulous location for all our favourite beaches and places to visit, like Lynton and Lynmouth (stunning villages !) Set in a charming little village and lovely local pub with scrummy well priced food. We'll be back!

Dear Katherine, many thanks for your wonderful feedback. Yes you are correct in the reason for not having a parasol or shade sail on the upper terrace. We are looking at options but it is difficult to find suitable parasols or pergola's. We thought of shade sails also, but then the seating would be in shade and then not moveable. Something that we are looking at for the future when we can find the right solution. So glad you had a wonderful time and it was hot a sunny for you to enjoy the terrace and views. kindest regards, Stuart & Pauline Property Owner

  • "The Drift is a lovely new property in a quiet village."

Stuart and Pauline have provided everything you could need. The house really feels like a home with little touches like plants and reed diffusers. The garden terrace is gorgeous with fabulous views of the country side. The Crown Inn in the village is a few minutes walk away and well worth a visit. I would definitely stay again if I was in North Devon.

The elevated patio and terrace are a great place to enjoy drinks after a tough day on the beach. We really liked The Crown Inn, nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly service with a good menu and ample portions at we felt a sensible price.
