“This was a beautiful place to stay.”

Everything you needed was here and it felt really homely and clean, lovely location too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only things that could have been improved upon and made a big difference to my 81 year old mums comfort would be, grab rails in the toilets, I loved the fact that this accommodation had a downstairs loo for mum, but alas it was too low and nothing to aid her getting up.. same upstairs but we made it easier for her. The couches were lovely and comfy for someone who wasn’t advancing in years as they were again very low and no back support, also the benches around the table too, we did get around this by mum sitting on her trolley that has a seat... all this could be rectified to make it fit for all ages by having a couple of nice higher chairs with a firm back and a couple of grab rails. Also something that needs addressing is the instructions to get to the Stables... we arrived in the dark and rain and it took us nearly an hour to find the place.... I was on the verge of giving up, as the property is not visible from the road only the back of it and the village is pitch black... we had to ask at the pub and they gave us vague directions the best they could and said previous people had asked there too.... at night you can’t see the name, and you can’t look for clues from the picture. Ended up walking around and eventually spotted a metre of railing sticking out that I recognised. This review sounds as if I didn’t enjoy my holiday.. once I found it I really loved it apart from feeling very sorry for my poor mum.... but beautifully appointed otherwise. It was also a late notice swing from Wales that went into lockdown thanks to Sykes refunding our money within 48 hours which enabled us to rebook... so Sykes I think you a really marvellous to do that and save our holiday...must just add the beds are mega comfy and have arrived home and am now not happy with my own mattress. Also kitchen is absolutely stunning. Thank you.
