  • "We had a fantastic week at Albany with our extended family."

There were 8 of us spread over the 5 bedrooms and the property suited us so well. The views from the property are fantastic and you are well situated for exploring Looe with only a ten min walk into town or a 2 minute trip on the foot ferry. The property is well kitted out throughout and is decorated to a high standard. Our nephew and niece loved playing with the x-box which was a nice extra touch! Staying here felt like a real treat! We will definitely be back!

  • "Albany is a wonderful property with a fantastic outlook from each floor."

It is comfortable and clean with everything you would need. The views are fascinating at any time of day or night, and constantly changing with the tide. The location allows easy access to a good range of restaurants and takeaways by foot aswell as a little further away by car. Lots of fish landed in Looe. Lots to do locally and good boat /fishing trips available - 2 weeks would not be enough. It is south coast so we didn’t get any surf at the height of summer although Whitsands can be good for bodyboarding. A range of north coast beaches are within an hour and a quarter. As in the description, access is via a steep slope and parking is 1/2 mile away. We were able to pull up outside for unloading, loading, dropping off in the evening and picking up without any problem. Great holiday - we will be back

  • "Absolutely fabulous stay in a beautifully recently refurbished house, everything was top notch with lots of ingenious touches ."

The views were excellent, and apart from wishing for wall to wall sunshine we could not have asked for more!

  • "We have just enjoyed a really lovely week in Looe."

Albany is of a high standard and has all the home comforts we needed including a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, two high powered showers for when you come off the beach, and super views across Looe. We were on holiday with all the family and our elderly parents and children managed the slope to the property fine due to the handrail and with a flat walk or £1 ferry across to the shops, restaurants and beach we were able to go out and enjoy Looe every day. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful thankyou so much we would definitely stay again.

Follow the network of stone steps and ramps to reach this wonderful holiday home, where a delightful front patio with seating will greet you upon arrival, providing a truly lovely spot to enjoy an evening tipple with a view at the end of an action-packed day.

Remove any coats and shoes in the hallway as you step inside before following the original wooden flooring through to the open-plan living/dining room, flooded with light welcomed in through the traditional bay windows, and putting your feet up to unwind on the plush chesterfield sofas, and watch the everchanging harbour views.  You also have the choice of Sky TV, Netflix, a variety of books, games and puzzles as well as a games console.

Gather your guests together at the dining table as you prepare a range of tasty treats in the nearby kitchen, equipped with a range of facilities, including a handy dishwasher to help with the cleaning; uncork a chilled bottle of wine and recount the days adventures as you indulge.

In the evening, take advantage of your peaceful coastal surroundings with your favourite tipple in hand, or escape the excitement and indulge in a blissful soak amongst the bubbles in the elegant roll-top bath.

For those guests that would prefer a quick rinse, the stylish shower room on the second-floor is equipped with a walk-in shower cubicle.

Boasting five well-presented bedrooms, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to resting your head, with two super-king-size rooms settled on the first-floor, one benefiting from access to it's own TV and the other offering a flexible zip/link feature, whilst the single bedroom offers a day bed, ideal for both couples, families and friends sharing.

Two additional super-king-size bedrooms can be found alongside the study on the second-floor, one offering a flexible zip/link feature.

A short walk from your doorstep will bring you into the heart of Looe, where you'll find all of your local amenities, including a fabulous selection of eateries, ranging from traditional pubs to hearty cafes and elegant restaurants, along with a collection of high-street and independent shops.

Be sure to pack your costume and head to the glorious sands of East Looe Beach to spend a fun-filled afternoon paddling the shores or building castles, or embark on a two-footed adventure along the South West Coast Path to marvel at the Pen and Limmicks Rocks decorating the seafront.

Whilst you're in the area, be sure to plan a boat trip to Looe Island, home to a marine nature reserve accessible only via official trip organizers, and catch sight of the precious wildlife that inhabits the landscape.

For more coastal adventures, travel south to Polperro, where you'll find turquoise blue waters, golden sands and a picture-perfect fishing village.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
