  • "The cottage was so comfortable and clean with everything we needed and more."

It was lovely sitting outside surrounded by the peaceful park and a little peak of the sea. Nice seeing the donkeys as we passed each day. Great location for exploring the area. Cottage had all the personal touches with plenty of room. A nice touch leaving wine and fudge for our arrival. Would definitely recommend. X

Thank you so much for your feedback on your stay at Broom Cottage. We really appreciate it. Jean and Kevin Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very nice and clean, well equipped with everything you need."

The beds are very comfortable. The lane up to the site is very narrow but this did not cause us any problems. it means people go slower and are looking out for people which I think make it safer. We felt the let down was the grassed area out side the cottage. It was not mown very well or edged. There was a thistle growing on the edge of the patio. It would have been nice to have a couple of nice chairs and a small table on the patio as well as the wooden bench's, On a positive the patio did catch the sun nicely all day. We enjoyed our stay

Cottage was very well equipped and mobile internet worked surprisingly well. Great location (and all potholes seem to have been fixed :))

The road to the property is a nightmare with potholes. I would never recommend the cottage.

It had everything we needed. The main downside is that the potholes leading to the cottage, and maybe they should put a fence between the two properties.

  • "The cottage is great, it has everything you could need and was cleaned to a very high standard."

The welcoming gifts were really appreciated and is reflective of the efforts the cottage owners make to ensure people have a positive experience whilst staying there. Unfortunately the road surface on the site is extremely poor in places and whilst it shouldn't spoil your holiday it simply isn't acceptable and needs addressing by the 'Stoneleigh Holiday Village' site owners.

The home comforts needed nothing lovely and clean the only let down was the driveway it was in need of the pot holes being filled as if you suffered with a bad back would have been most uncomfortable

It was raining and very cold when we arrived, the bungalow was lovely and warm and welcoming the wine and fudge were a nice surprise but the pot holes in the drive spoilt our arrival it was a very uncomfortable going in and out of the site

  • "I have done self catering holidays many times, but never been anywhere which is so well equipped, if you needed to do washing everything was there including a tumble dryer, we only used the dishwasher once as the amount of washing up we had each day didn't warrant using it as we ate out every day, The wine and fudge as a welcome gift was a lovely gesture, you could not fault this place for anything definate 5 stars."

  • "It's in a quiet location and within walking distance from The Donkey Sanctuary, which is well worth the visit."

There was only one downside, and that was you had to drive a couple of miles to the nearest supermarket, not on site. But you can get round that. Would still go back plenty to do within a short distance.

The site is quiet and fabulous for a chill out time. Dont go if you want a club or any facilities.

  • "Great place!"

Didn't realise how close to the beach it was! Less than a mile to the sea if you walked down the cliff path, and Sidmouth beach (near Jacob's ladder) wasn't crowded with close parking and facilities. Hair dryers were also in the bedrooms, which I don't think was listed. Never had stayed in such a lovely place before with the family. Very quiet. Really great value when compared to other places. The numbering system in the 'village' was confusing, but oh well. Have booked again! Lovely to be greeted with a bottle of wine and card. The owners were also helpful when I messaged them about a couple of things. Also visited the National Trust Places A la Rounde and Killerton. Just a fab place to recharge my batteries ... and of course, the lovely weather really helped. Didn't want to come home!

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished and everything provided, including tea and coffee which was a bonus."

A lovely touch of a bottle of wine and fudge on arrival. The only downside is the road leading to the property - full of potholes. I have since noted that this was in a review dated November 2017 and nothing seems to have been done.

  • "A wonderful cottage with everything you need for a comfortable holiday."

Lovely spot on the site with a view of the sea at Weston Mouth. Convenient for visits to the Jurassic Coast towns. The owners have furnished it to a high standard and included everything you need to self- cater if you wish. Put in wi-fi for us as the site one was not working. We appreciated the wine and fudge and welcome on arrival. We shall be coming back again.

  • "There is no WiFi at this cottage despite what it says in the listing - this is important to some people so please update the listing as soon as possible."

The walls between this cottage and the attached neighbours are paper thin. If your neighbours are quiet or the cottage unoccupied then there is no problem, otherwise conversations can be heard quite clearly through the wall.

Thank you for the feedback there were some issues with the wifi being intermittent but this has now been fully rectified. The bungalow is traditionally built with cavity walls. Kind regards, Property Owner

Next door to Donkey Sanctuary with its lovely new cafe. Spotlessly clean and generous gift of fudge and wine left for us but also, coffee, tea, washing powder, handwash, loo rolls etc. Every utensil you can think of is in the bungalow. All you need to do is to pack your bag and toothbrush and a bit of food and turn up and enjoy! One small point Wifi is intermittent.

  • "Broom Cottage was an excellent property in all respects."

The owners had put a great deal of thought into their guests needs and comfort; fixtures, fittings and accessories were all very good quality and the property was extremely warm, comfortable and well maintained. The only negative point is the standard of the road through the holiday village to individual properties. The road is very heavily pitted with large pot holes which are impossible to avoid and for this reason alone, I would not return to the site.
