  • "Crispin is a very nice little cottage and was spotlessly clean."

Thank you for the wine and biscuits. Our only disappointment was that the back garden was not fully enclosed and access to it was from the front. This meant our dog could not go out without being on the lead, day or night. Thank you.

  • "My wife and I found the week we had in Crispin Cottage most relaxing."

There was no pressure from 'rules' and the only query about the rubbish was dealt with in a trice. Our dog also enjoyed herself.

  • "Back garden could be more private/hidden from back door of farmhouse; there was bird droppings on the garden furniture; it wasn't obvious how to switch on the heater opposite the bathroom door But generally the facilities were good, clean and tidy throughout; a quite, pretty village, nice pub with good food and a village shop with all the essentials."

The sea coast and Exeter are both less than a half hour drive

  • "Crispin Cottage welcomes you beautifully with some generous treats and it's very pretty."

Quiet and well equipped.we love quirky. We were a bit cold at night time because we switched the heater off in the bedroom as it made a clanging noise..but there was lots of bedding to keep you comfy. Whimple is a pretty village to wander round with its thatched cottages and leafy lanes ..so we'll definitely be booking again a lovely stay at Crispin cottage...infact we already have done.

  • "Ideal base for two, it was a cold week in general, but was the first week in March!"

! we got use to the electric heaters by the second night. the welcome pack was a lovely touch, wine, scones and chocolate ginger biscuits, and the toiletries, gowns and slippers, THANK YOU. We would recommend and use again, ideally in warmer months. And would recommend the local Thirsty Farmers to eat, a short walk away. Thank you to the owner who left us to get on with it.

  • "We spent a lovely week at Crispin Cottage over Christmas."

The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and the little extras made the cottage so welcoming - real Christmas tree and decorations and a fabulous welcome pack of goodies and essentials. Would heartily recommend a stay here.

  • "Great attention to detail and the wine etc left was very thoughtful and appreciated."

I was only disappointed with the soap dispensers, they had obviously been refilled/topped up with water to appear full. They were extremely watered down. Given the Covid crisis we’re living in I thought this was very poor and so bought my own soap. Otherwise everything was excellent. Many apologies, I remember I’d left some stuff in the fridge when I was halfway home. Really sorry, it can all go in the bin

Thank you for your comments, and bringing this to our attention. We are pleased that you had an excellent holiday at Crispin Cottage and that you appreciated the welcome pack provided. We can confirm that our handwash soap dispensers are never watered down, but filled regularly with liquid soap ready for each new guest. Also thank you for letting us know about the contents of the fridge, we have sorted this and we hope to see you soon again. Property Owner
