When you stay here you are out in the middle of the beautiful Devon countryside, yet just 5 minutes drive from Tiverton and within easy reach of the coastal areas of both North and South Devon as well as the vibrant city of Exeter. The owners of the cottage live in the house over the courtyard. They are a lovely couple who are very welcoming and were always on hand to help. The Cottage is very clean and the owners had made sure that all the essentials such as tea bags, washing up liquid etc.. were ready for our stay. The location is in a small valley a fair way down a narrow but typical undulating Devon Lane. The outlook from the cottage is stunning with views over the nearby hills which were full of cows and sheep. There were also various birds visiting the immaculate garden area. There is a very good parking area right outside the cottage and a 3-pin socket was available from the outside utility room which I used to charge my plug-in electric car overnight. There are also two Instavolt 50 kWh chargers 5 minutes down the road at the Exe Valley leisure centre. Just before the leisure centre there is a conveniently located Morrisons for your shopping needs. From the cottage there are some great walks direct from the front door which we did. During our stay we also went to Beer (seaside town about 45 minute drive away) and we did a walk recommended in the cottage welcome folder which was Salcombe Hill to Sidmouth circular walk. This was a great walk with stunning scenery but it was quite steep in places. I highly recommend this Cottage for a couple or a family of up to four, although you should note that there are only two bedrooms so the children must share the 2 single beds in one of the rooms. We enjoyed our stay so much and we are already planning to go back to the cottage again as it exceeded our expectations.
