    Ms Tucker

    “We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday.”

Some notes for your information. ...

Some notes for your information. There was some concern about the amount of flies in the property, indeed many dead ones on floors when we arrived. Sofas were a little uncomfortable, especially for older members of group to get up from, as they were very low down. The security light outside kitchen patio door seemed a little unreliable. However, the house was brilliantly resourced, especially for the preparation of Christmas dinner. It was clean (with the exception of dead flies), welcoming, and has excellent secure garden for dog to be able to run around and play. Very. useful boot room and utility space, and the den was especially popular with younger element of the party. The property was heated well throughout the break. I would definitely recommend this to friends, and many thanks for such a brilliant service throughout from Helpful Holifdays staff. Also a thank you to owners for ensuring the property was decorated so nicely for Christmas, and the card and biscuits were a lovely touch.

The property

This big semi-detached house converted from barns is situated across a lane from a farm down hedgerow lanes a mile from South Tawton.

With stylish décor and modern comforts, it is lovely accommodation for big groups.

The sitting room is vast, a wonderful room to live in with a porcelain floor, cosy open fire, dining table and a pool table.

In true country style, the kitchen is big too and doubles as a breakfast room with double doors to throw open to the sunny patio.

For the children, you have a snug den with a TV.

Head on up to the gallery landing and you will find a choice of five bedrooms with traditional low beams.

On fine days the children will enjoying playing table tennis in the open fronted barn where you can also store your bikes and beach gear.

You have lawns to front and back, the rear lawn being safely enclosed and the front garden having a patio for enjoying alfresco meals around the barbecue.

There is plenty here to keep you occupied, but if you go further afield you can walk and picnic in Dartmoor’s open spaces or find town amenities in Okehampton with its cinema, leisure centre, shops and restaurants.

All around are interesting little Dartmoor villages to explore and relax in cosy old inns.

Rock Barn is a fabulous house for family or friends to gather and enjoy the exceptional style and space.
