The property

This striking stone-built semi-detached cottage is situated in trees along a private drive about 200 yards above Dartmeet, a Dartmoor landmark where two lovely rivers converge.

With a peaceful setting in the heart of the moors, it is a wonderful place for families or anyone who wants to relax in beautiful surroundings, walk Dartmoor hills, cycle, enjoy picnics by the river, climb tors, shoot or fish.

On the ground floor, the porch and hall lead through to the spacious sitting room with cosy wood burning stove.

The reading room is a peaceful spot which opens out to the garden, and leads up a few steps to the kitchen with its dining area.

Head up the stairs to the three bedrooms, two double, one with atmospheric Victorian bed and the other which leads through to a little unheated single which is useful for alternative sleeping arrangements.

Once part of HRH Prince Charles estate, you have twelve acres of bluebell meadows and woods to wander, with river where you can fish, all beyond your garden and large meadow with a barbecue and patio.

And beyond the meadow, the lovely open moorland.

In this prime Dartmoor location, you are spoiled for choice of outdoor activities.

Canoeists gather at the café at Dartmeet, below the cottage, or you will find pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns of Poundsgate, Ashburton and Tavistock.

The beach is about twenty miles away.

Herb Cottage is a grand place for the great outdoors, or enjoying the sights of Dartmoor.
