• "What a fabulous, place to stay."

  ... Perfect for our large 3 generation family and dogs. So well lequipped.. Had everything you could ever need. Lovely linen and towels, really well presented too. Quite probably the best place we have ever stayed. Really amazing property. Glad we have booked for another year too.

• "A lovely property which a family of three generations enjoyed ."

  The games barn was fantastic especially when the weather conditions were poor. Beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had an issue with one of the dishwashers during our stay which was dealt with promptly by the owners.

• "We had a fantastic stay at mill barn, there was 8 adults and 6 children and plenty of room for all of us."

  The children had lots of things to do to keep them happy, they loved the games barn. The bedrooms were spacious clean and comfortable and the kitchens had everything you needed. It's in a lovely peaceful location with lots of places to visit which are not to far away and 2 big supermarkets within an 8 minute drive. I would highly recommend staying at mill barn.

• "Excellent facilities in a well maintained property."

  The children particularly enjoyed the air hockey machine and the additional games room in the orchard is a hidden bonus. The kitchen is very well kitted out and the two separate dishwashers were very useful for our large group. Would definitely recommend Mill Barn.

• "Mill Barn was absolutely perfect for our big family gathering."

  The owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. The barn is equipped to an excellent standard and felt really spacious even though there was 12 of us. All of the bathrooms were to a high standard and it was brilliant to have so many so them. The weather was lovely and we went out a lot but the only small thing to note for the listing was that the TV has basic Sky but did not have other streaming services and had we known, we would have bought our own fire stick. We are back at Mill Barn later in the year!

• "A fantastic property for our family group of 13 ."

  The accommodation was spacious, very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed . The kitchen was well equipped The barn was lovely and warm when we arrived ( we also used the wood burner ) We all enjoyed the games barn. The barn is located in a beautiful area and I would certainly stay again and recommend for large family groups.

• "We booked accommodation for Xmas week and it met our expectations."

  There was plenty of room in a spacious lounge and kitchen area. The bedrooms were comfortable and some had en suite faculities. Perhaps the provision of a "Welcome Pack" of basic provisions would have been helpful, as the supermarkets are a little distance away. The games room is well equipped, but a short walk outside of the property. Overall, this is a lovely place for a large family group.

  Superbly equipped and very comfortable. We were a 3 generation family of 12 and this suited everyone - the young ones games of hide-and-seek lasted ages and the play barn was a very useful addition for all.

  It was everything we hoped it would be and more. A tastefully decorated property in a lovely setting in a beautiful part of the world. All ages were thoughtfully catered for and the accommodation and facilities were first class. Very spacious rooms and a lovely safe garden. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. We were really sad to leave.

  Lovely and clean, full to the brim with cooking utensils etc. A real home from home. It is a huge property and served our family well. Close to beaches and other small towns and amenities. We had a wonderful relaxing week away. The owners are very accommodating if you need them.

• "An absolutely fantastic property for family gatherings."

  We appreciated the quick response to our queries. Outstanding kitchen facilities with two sinks, two bins and two dishwashers which made life so much easier plus an additional kitchen facility downstairs enabling our furry friends to be catered for separately. The only disappointment was poor Wi-Fi coverage, especially the downstairs bedrooms.

• "We could not of been more impressed with this property."

  The owners were there if needed but not invasive at all. The area is beautiful and everything seemed 10 minutes away! The games room is an added bonus. All the bedrooms were spacious. Absolutely everything you need was in the property and fully stocked with crockery, utensils etc. Would highly recommend ocean view restaurant, and a trip to south Milton sands, a dog off lead friendly beach and then a visit to the beach shack at the top of the beach for lunch. All in all nothing could have been improved apart from maybe the weather at times!!

  The location was quiet and peaceful yet still close enough to Salcombe. The accommodation was spacious, clean and tidy and has everything you need and the games room was used everyday. The owners were all very friendly and helpful couldn't ask for more in a holiday property. Would definitely recommend and welcome the opportunity to stay again.

• "Mill Barn at Woolston was perfect for our party of 12."

  The house is very well equipped and had everything we required. It is light and spacious, warm and with plenty of hot water. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had plenty of towels. The owners were charming, welcoming and very helpful and very kindly rigged a double bed in the Games Room in lieu of the bunk beds (not suitable for our age group). Mill Barn is well situated for the towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe, and there are masses of walks to choose from within a short drive. Altogether, Mill Barn is a lovely property and we would strongly recommend it. We will come back again.

• "Great place for a family gathering, cleanliness was brilliant, baby stair gate, cot available."

  Pet friendly in most of the barn but not allowed in bedrooms, we ended up not taking pets which was the best idea. No tv signal in the bedrooms which the other adults and children moaned about. We did have large tv in lounge which had sky tv. The barn play room was a great addition, ideal that we had brilliant weather to walk to it. A few extra bits like a few toiletries and some coffee pods for the machine would have been welcomed. The hoover smelt quite bad from dog. Such a lovely peaceful place to stay we really enjoyed the space and us all being able to get together as we are quite a large family. We did get an hour later to check out as 9am is very early to get 5 children ready and out the door. Would definitely book again.

  Thank you for the feedback. We have asked our changeover team to ensure that hoover bags/filters are checked each changeover and changed as necessary to prevent odours. The TV signal issue in the bedrooms has been fixed – apologies for this. The outgoing guests had reported the issue, which we were grateful for, however, unfortunately the engineer couldn’t attend until the Monday, so after your weekend break. We’re pleased that you would definitely book Mill Barn again. Property Owner

• "I would definitely recommend a stay at Mill Barn!"

  The premise is very clean and well maintained, there was a small problem with the hot water but the owner quickly responded and resolved it. Luxury all the way at this beautiful home, large kitchen with everything you could ask for. Underfloor heating, large comfortable bedrooms, I had an en-suite with a lovely deep bath and large shower cubicle. The grandchildren really enjoyed the games room and park (A short walk of 50 meters) in the beautiful orchard area.(Darts, skittles, table tennis, pool table) Ideally located for the Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Hope Cove areas.

Took a number of phone calls over a number of months to sort out problems ! With no call backs as promised ! Very stressful experience!! Would not book through skyescottages again !!

  Exceptionally clean and furnished to a high standard. Kitchen is very well stocked with ample crockery, utensils and appliances - a real home from home. Owner was welcoming and helpful without ever being intrusive. The area is typical for Devon and Cornwall with many very narrow lanes and roads so not for the faint hearted driver at times! Fully recommend the property.

• "Mill Barn was both very comfortable and well equipped."

  The beaches were close at hand and we particularly enjoyed North Sands and Bigbury on Sea. We were a family party of 12 (3 generations) and the 6 children loved the house with plenty of places to play ‘Hide and Seek’. The games barn was a success for both the children and their parents and the enclosed garden was a good place for the dog to sit in the sun. We can confidently recommend this excellent holiday accommodation for a large group.

• "Extremely spacious and well appointed large property."

  2 dishwashers upstairs in large kitchen an 1 on ground floor in small kitchen, ideal for when we had a barbecue in garden or large meal upstairs.very well equipped in terms of kitchen equipment. Lovely and clean, made us of private play barn and orchard that was just for our use. Plenty of parking. Beautiful location would recommend visiting hope cove and the beach and north sands and east portlemouth ( accessed by short ferry ride) almost had beaches to ourselves. Enjoyed the walks to Gara Rock and bolt head. So many lovely places to eat. If large group of you are going would recommend a Tesco or Waitrose delivery of all your essentials on first day of holiday. Would love to return at next milestone birthday or anniversary in family. We were 11 people age ranging from 18 months to 80yrs and 2 dogs.

• "What you see is what you get re this property."

  The photos are true. An excellent place to stay. Our experience: Follow the instructions to the property that are sent to you with the booking as it will avoid you taking some very narrow lanes. Great parking at the property. Loading and unloading outside the property is easy. The property is immaculate and the owners are on hand to help and advise should you need it. The family are very friendly and live next door. The provision of kitchenware and ovenware is first class. It's so easy to cook indoors and host guests, also the barn layout upstairs works really well for big groups. Three dishwashers and 2 kitchens in the property work well; all the bathrooms are first class. It is warm in the property even without the log burner. Bedrooms downstairs are quiet to sleep in. We didn't get much use out of the games room as it's across the road, but I imagine with small children playing in the field across the road and dogs if you have them, it would be a good place to go particularly in summer. To be honest we couldn't fault this property. Pre book taxis if you need them and restaurants too. Read the information book in the property for ideas of places to go. Take good supplies of food and drink with you and you will have a great time. Date of Stay: February 2019

• "We booked Mill Barn for our annual Christmas weekend with our friends."

  It really exceeded everyone's expectations and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The main kitchen and living room area was absolutely amazing and the bedrooms were beautiful. We couldn't have asked for anywhere better really - and on top of that the owner Emily was really helpful, accommodating and even welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco. 5 Star property!

• "The accommodation and facilities were excellent."

  Comfortably accommodated 14 people. The games room and barn for the children were particularly helpful in keeping kids occupied and happy, whilst the large TV, stereo sound and Sky Sports entertained the adults. The underfloor heating was very effective in keeping the spacious main living area warm. Well fitted out to a high standard. Everyone commented on how comfortable the mattresses/bedding were. Great location in the countryside, yet close to Salcombe, with some lovely walks along the nearby beaches and coastline. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

• "This is the best large holiday home I have stayed in, and I have stayed in quite a few."

  The barn itself is clean, spacious and extremely well equipped with good quality kitchen equipment to make the self catering just like cooking at home. 8 adults plus a toddler and 2 dogs stayed and there was plenty of space to share times together as well as separate areas to relax. The bedrooms were all large and plenty of toilets so no arguing. Owners were really friendly. Would certainly recommend.
