  • "The lodge was beautiful!"

! small but cozy, the hot tub was lovely after a full day of exploring. The extra heater they’ve popped in is an added bonus for this cold nights in the winter. The shower was abit temperamental with heat, only ever felt lukewarm even though I had it up on full temp (not sure if this was just us being silly). The owner was very friendly and the horses were a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning. Would definitely recommend!! Will be coming back x

  • "Lovely position and outlook, watching the rabbits and the sheep every morning and evening was delightful."

Some traffic noise but we soon got used to it. The bed wasn’t the most comfiest but didn’t spoil our stay. The hot tub was a very welcome end to the day. Definitely recommend a visit in to Axbridge and to sample the coffee shop for the cream tea and Ridley’s for the most amazing bacon and sausage bap. The New Inn in Cross, just a five minute walk, does lovely meals. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • "This pod was on a farm overlooking the animals and the owners home, next to another pod and hot tub."

Steve met us on arrival and went through everything and took the time to suggest walks and pubs which was kind. We booked on the day of arrival so couldn’t use hot tub till the next day as it needed heating up which was fine. Welcome pack said if needed we can ask for extra towels/linen so we did ask for extra towels for the hot tub as didn’t want to use the 2 shower towels but was told what we had should be enough but if we got stuck to ask again. We left it as didn’t want to be a trouble but just felt for £385 for the trip, extra towels would have been nice. The bed was too small for us and found it uncomfortable but then we are used to kingsize so maybe just a personal preference! Location was great for exploring cheddar. Nearby pub was nice, short walk.

  • "Me, my friend and my dog stayed here for 3 nights."

They were the most relaxing evenings and the pod is surrounded with lovely walks and a small community village close by. During the days we adventured and in the nights we took advantage of the services and cooked small meals and a few drinks around the hottub and fire. The place was lovely with views and animals surrounding. Would definitely go back. Thank your.

  • "Lovely week in this great well equip and comfortable pod."

Beautiful setting and very relaxing. The owner and his family were really friendly. The hot tub was a great added extra. Within walking distance of two pubs. A short drive to the beautiful Chedder gorge for lovely walks, and literally on the doorstep of the strawberry line. We really enjoyed our stay as did the dog (he loved watching the rabbits in the field in front of us as we bbq’d). Will definitely return. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • "Had a brilliant stay here with our dog over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend."

The location is absolutely spot on and is close to Cheddar, Axbridge and Weston Super Mare whilst still feeling rural. Also across the farm field has easy access to the Strawberry Line which is a great walk or cycle ride. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown all around the lodge which was extremely comfortable and comes with everything you need including heater, digital TV and a small kitchen with everything you would need to cook a small meal. The hot tub also has amazing views of the farm and the scenery and only added to the experience. Will definitely be returning.

  • "Lovely place."

Great base to explore from and lots of restaurants nearby in Cheddar. Everything you need for a short stay (Steve very helpful explaining how to use hot tub, hob and combi microwave). Washing up liquid, sponge and teatowel included as well as tea and coffee and a couple of milk pods. Loved the pod and the hot tub. The only downside I can think of was that there was no space for wardrobe so everything stayed in suitcase. Would wholeheartedly recommend it.

It offers beautiful views and plenty to do nearby. Steve is very welcoming and is a wonderful host, he met us upon arrival to show us the pod and how to use the hot tub; which was amazing! We were looking for somewhere to unwind with our Labrador for a few nights and Suffolk didn't disappoint. There's a nice little pub a 5 minute walk away and perfect dog walks right on the doorstep. We'll definitely look to return in the not so distant future! Thanks again Steve, we had a lovely stay :) Lewis, Carla and Alfie

The Suffolk pod was perfect as was the location. Stunning countryside views with beautiful walks close by. The facilities were spotless and a credit to the owners who were lovely. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset in the evening from the hot tub which was perfect. Cross itself is a lovely place with friendly people. Axbridge is a beautiful village with a great pub and only a short walk from cross. Once again many thanks and we will definitely be back in the not to distant future.

  • "The holiday cabin is a bit misleading in the advert."

First of all Syke Cottages didn’t make it very clear that I actually paid for 2 nights and we only stayed 1 and after contacting them I found they were very unhelpful and weren’t interested in the slightest in some sort of refund/compensation. The cabin is situated on a hill directly next to another cabin with the owners right next to you. We felt as though you feel your being watched all the time. In terms of facilities the hot tub was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I was very disappointed with the heating not working as it’s the only source of heating in the cabin. We were told to use a £15 plug in heater in the cabin which really isn’t good enough for the money we paid. The bathroom is absolutely freezing cold too with nowhere to actually dry your towels etc.

I am sorry to learn that the stay did not match your expectations. I am somewhat perplexed by the statements you have made. The properties are not directly next to one another, the other pod is roughly 25 meters away and although I live nearby I am still roughly 40 meters away from both pods. The pod you had stayed in offers views of the moors directly opposite and is surrounded by agricultural land. I am sorry for issue with the heating at the time as the underfloor heating in the bedroom was not reaching the maximum temperature but the additional heating provided was more than adequate as I never like to see my guest feeling uncomfortable. There is not heating in the bathroom but due to the size of the pod, if you simply open the bathroom door, the heat from the living area should radiate throughout and warm up the bathroom. Thank you for your comments. Best wishes, The owner of Suffolk. Property Owner
