    The cottage was spacious and well equipped the bed linen and towels were spotless and very comfortable The upstairs rooms were very clean, downstairs was a bit dusty but an acceptable level of cleanliness The garden was disappointing very overgrown and neglected not how it looked in the photos we were unable to use it Overall we had a great stay at Yew cottage

    The garden was in a bit of a mess and the bbq could not be used. The kitchen had lots of equipment and was well stocked with lots of mugs etc. Overall we were very pleased with the cottage very comfortable.

    It is in a rural area but all resorts in Dorset are easily accessible. The local pub (1 minute walk away) is excellent. The landlord made us very welcome and the variety of food and drink is very good. The local convenience store is also well stocked with all the food you would need. This cottage really had all you need for a very enjoyable holiday.

  • "Downstairs, the house was dirty and had not been properly cleaned."

    We took photos that showed grubby furniture and carpet, with food crumbs and hair on the stained sofa. Dining table was not wiped clean, nor fridge. Kitchen surfaces needed cleaning before we could unpack. Garden table was dirty, and barbecue rusting in a corner. Took days to contact owner due to phone signal problems in the area. She said that she had cleaned upstairs( which was perfectly ok), and"thought that her brother had cleaned the downstairs rooms after staying there". Not good enough, and house not clean enough by any standards, let alone the higher standards required in view of Corona Virus! Also, the downstairs cloakroom containing the washing machine was out of bounds, due to a problem with the boiler in there, which created an unpleasant smoky smell in the house. The house was not ready to be let, but the owner did not think that we deserved any compensation.

  • "Great location for touring Dorset."

    We used it as a base for a walking holiday from Shaftbury to Swanage. It was lovely coming back to the cottage. Very comfortable bed and very good quality towels. The shower was very powerful. The small community store was was 2 doors down and stocked everything we wanted. Great accomodation.

    The White Lion very friendly with good beer and food. Everything went smoothly, really like the location as peaceful but not far from coast, many good walks around especially Pilsdon hill which has superb views. The cottage was ideal for our party of seven, plenty of room, conservatory was a real bonus and parking no problem

    Very comfortable in pleasant and very convenient location. Friendly village local and the village shop next door!! A short drive takes you to the busting market town of Bridport ,and the whole of the jurassic coast is within easy driving distance. Would not hesitate to recommend and will return soon I hope.
