  • "This was our 2nd stay with Henry and Claire at Walnut Tree Cottage, (we've also stayed at Olive Tree Cottage), lovely and caring hosts."

Once again our break was comfortable and everything we have come to experience and expect. Super quality especially of bedding and linen, and such a wonderful bed! Decor is very stylish too. We do hope to return in 2024.

  • "We highly recommend Walnut Cottage for it's comfort, cleanliness and amenities."

The owners Henry and Claire have thought of everything to make it an enjoyable experience and were on hand should anything be needed. The gardens are beautiful with lovely views over the countryside and we came away feeling content and very relaxed. We have stayed in many holiday cottages but this was the best we have found. Absolutely no complaints. Mike and Teresa

  • "Henry and Claire are two of lifes most wonderful people."

Their warm and friendly nature is most welcoming and their attention to detail is excellent too. The complementary biscuits and cider was an added bonus. Everything you need has been carefully thought out and the sunsets on the patio courtyard are stunning. Ruby and Ted are also part of their family and provide additional security to the property which is accessed through an electronic gate. The accommodation is perfect for couples and the mattress is also superb to lie on.The high power shower was superb with a beautifully thought out kitchen and lounge to boot. We were able to enjoy leisurely breakfasts before setting out to enjoy many National trust and English heritage sites, all located within a half hour or so from resort. The photographs on the website don't do it justice enough. We will definitely be rebooking this lovely home.Thank you Henry and Claire for sharing your home with us...we'll be seing you soon...

It is located in a stunning area with easy access to anywhere in the county. The outside patio area is lovely and very peaceful. The bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever had. There are no negatives at all and we look forward to returning very soon

  • "Walnut Tree Cottage deserves every one of its 5* rating."

We really enjoyed staying in this extremely spacious and well appointed cottage. Although hidden away, it is in easy reach of many National Trust properties and other attractions. Nearby Langport is a pleasant small town with attractive walks along the banks of the river. Henry and Claire are excellent hosts and we look forward to another visit to explore some of the other places in the area. We have already recommended the cottage to our friends.

  • "The property is in a beautiful setting, and a great location for exploring Somerset."

A very well appointed kitchen and en-suite and the most fabulous bed I’ve ever slept in. Just one minor point-the lack of curtains in the bedroom made for some very early mornings. Overall the combination of great accommodation and a really hospitable host would certainly make us visit again.

Both hosts are so friendly, amenable and welcoming. We had a wonderful and very comfortable and relaxing stay. Everything is of high standard, linens, kitchenware, crockery etc. The decor is modern, stylish and chic. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the views from the cottage, lovely. We really do hope to return next year. Highly recommended!

! We have travelled to many places but the peace and tranquillity here is unbeatable. We returned home relaxed & refreshed…everything you want from a holiday. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and had everything you need. There are plenty of lovely walks from the cottage & a great cider farm close by to finish the day off…be careful one cider turns into one too many!! Thank you so much to Claire & Henry, holidays here are life changing.

Location very peaceful and quiet with good outdoor space looking out over open countryside. Will certainly be returning to this lovely retreat as so much to do in this area.

Already booked to return! The property was spotlessly clean, bright and well equipped throughout. The owners, Claire & Henry, were on hand if we needed anything but not intrusive in any way. There are places to visit locally but the weather was fantastic during our stay so we chose to make the most of the outdoor area. It was peaceful and tranquil and by the end of the week we both felt fully rested. Our 1st holiday since COVID started could not have been more perfect.

There are so many great places to visit in the area and super walks all around, starting right behind the house. Utterly peaceful space to relax, whilst also within easy reach of shops, village pubs and a wide range of activities for days out. Highly recommend!

The property was very comfortable, clean and well presented. I would just like to suggest a few instruction manuals, for the TV and the microwave. It took a little while to sort out how to use both. It is certainly a property I would rebook. The walks in Langport along the river were very accessible and interesting. There are a lot of N.T. properties nearby worth visiting.

Cottage is finished to an incredibly high standard and really feels like a home away from home. Would 100% go back if we return to the area. Claire and Henry are fantastic hosts and very helpful. The location is so peaceful which is a massive bonus. It's rare to find places that are fitted out for comfort and luxury as opposed to basic and practical. Would highly recommend and hope they continue to receive guests who are respectful to the high quality. It was also absolutely pristine as if everything was brand new!

The only drawback was the lounge furniture. It was very uncomfortable, being leather and very low back. A few larger easy chairs would be better, especially for the older generation.

The property is beautiful and is open plan so it’s very spacious. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cutlery and plates etc. so we had no problems when coming back and cooking dinner in the evenings. The bed is super comfy! The grounds are beautiful and the cottage is located on the owners land next door to their other cottage. The views during the day and night are beautiful and the vibe is so peaceful. There is a cider shack that sells homemade ciders (delicious) and they serve food and cakes etc. definitely worth a visit!
