  • "The freezer was much smaller than we thought."

We found that the cooker oven was not very powerful for the number of people we were cooking for. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked very well for our daughter who has some physical disabilities. That said, we had a wonderful break in a lovely house. Beautiful views and area - we particularly loved Lyme Regis. All in all a very relaxing break in a great location.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Overlands."

The house is situated within walking distance of Burton Bradstock village centre and not too far to the beach. We were not aware there were 2 staircases before we arrived, but this didn’t affect our stay too much. We were blessed with great weather so we we’re able to use the garden all week, and the owners were really helpful in finding us extra space to park.

  • "Such a beautiful, well equipped cottage in the most spectacular location."

Hive beach was only a quick walk away and so many other fab beaches and towns in short driving distance. We had the best week!

  • "The house is well equipped and comfortable and with great views."

We did dub it 'the Narrow House' as it is built on a narrow sloping plot and doors and staircases are correspondingly narrow and the lay-out, with two staircases, is quirky. But you could say it all adds to the charm.

  • "Very large property."

Appreciated text from owner telling us property was ready for us. Felt confident adequate cleaning had taken place regarding covid risks. Everything looked very new. As in many rental properties, easy access to sockets for bedside phone charging could be easier. Took a long time to find keys for French window and front door but then felt silly that had not noticed the key hooks under the stairs. Automatic lights were good. Overall very pleased with our choice of property. Thank you.

  • "Perfect family holiday home."

Plenty of room for our family group of seven adults and a toddler. Large travel cot, high chair and stair gates provided and plenty of kitchen equipment. Good quality bedding and towels. Will definitely return.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our second holiday at Overland - just one point we would like to suggest is a larger fridge in the kitchen!"

For a party of 10 holidaymakers the present fridge is rather small.

  • "Overall we liked the property but there were a few things that we felt would make it more comfortable for visitors."

As a family group we felt that the fridge freezer was too small. Also there were not enough seats for everyone to sit in comfort in the lounge although there was plenty of space for them. I am aware that people like differing types of bed but all of the adults in our group felt the mattresses were too hard. As there was only the en-suite bathroom up one staircase it really does need to be a close family group to use these rooms. The house was light and spacious with a decent garden, a lovely dining area and kitchen (though a bit more work surface & cupboard space would have been a bonus), and a nice lounge with pleasant balcony. I would say it is quite a noisy house with hard flooring throughout the upstairs, staircases and passages and stable type door latches which cannot be opened quietly. A few rugs upstairs or carpeted staircases would reduce the noise. We were impressed that the owners had properly implemented local recycling facilities and proper containers were provided. The house is in a lovely village with plenty of places to visit locally

Very well equipped cottage in great location. Good for a group, walking holiday. Lots of lovely walks from the door. Two nice pubs to walk to, both serve great food.

  • "Overland is lovely and matched our needs superbly."

There was plenty of space for our party of 10, which included 2 children under three years. The kitchen was very well equipped and enabled us to cater for meals easily. The garden is lovely and allowed the children to let off steam safely. Maybe another couple of chairs in the sitting room would be a nice idea. The countryside and coastline is absolutely stunning. Thank you.

The kitchen was well equipped so we didn't have to eat out all the time. The house was a real haven after a day on the beach or a long walk along the coast.

  • "Was an ideal spacious house for our family with ages ranging from one to seventy two."

Accomodation, facilities, garden, equpment were all superb. The owners seemed to have thought of every eventuality. The only slight negative was that we had the impression that we would be very close / walking distance to pubs & the shop in Burton Bradstock. We felt walking there would have been a bit dangerous, especially with babies in buggies, due to the narrow winding nature of the road & the lack of any kind of pavement, so we felt we always needed a car & tended to go into nearby Bridport. We had a lovely week at Overland & would definitely recommend it to others
