  • "Lovely quiet setting, beautiful outlook."

Immaculate cottage with all we needed. Friendly, helpful owners. Easy for getting to the coast and New Forest and short distance from Ringwood. Most enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

  • "This cottage certainly lived up to our expectations & more."

A great location for exploring the New Forest. The Lodge is a credit to you and we could see you all work hard to achieve this so thank you. We particularly enjoyed the patio with it's views. We would certainly recommend this property.

  • "Every thing was exceptional apart from the sofa us being of vintage years it was uncomfortable."

The views and surrounds were wonderful.

  • "It was very much a cycling holiday but the cottage had no Wi Fi so we could not use it for cycle routes, the cottage had very uncomfortable couch and bar stools."

Very noisy from the stables, and no outside space or privacy.

The information does state there is no Wifi in the Lodge however there is good mobile signal for tethering, also provided in the information pack inside the lodge is a very detailed cycle route map. The horses are moved from the field into the stables and back each day which we have only had positive comments on. Bench and table areas provided give a degree of privacy but maximising the views. Comments left in the guest book by you do contradict your comments above. Property Owner

The lodge is spotless, spacious and very well equipped. Above all, it is truly peaceful. It's rare to find somewhere where the only sounds are of the natural world be it the breeze or the birds, a place where you can allow yourself to just be in the moment.

Lovely little touches like eggs and cookies for us. We were lucky with lovely weather and it was lovely to sit out on the little patio, we would have loved it if the chairs had cushions! Overall highly recommend for a quiet retreat and recharge,

  • "I had a great week at Roughwood."

The accommodation was situated in a pretty rural location and it was very private. The interior was beautifully maintained and it perfectly suited my tastes - very comfortable without being too 'fussy'. I used Roughwood as a base to tour the New Forest and I enjoyed a number of very good walks. The amenities nearby provided all I needed for the week and I left feeling very relaxed. I have holidayed with Sykes on a number of occasions and I can honestly say that Roughwood was up there with the very best.

  • "ROUGHWOOD COTTAGE IS NOT A DETACHED PROPERTY IT IS ATTACHED TO THE OWNERS PROPERTY."

Roughwood is attached to the owners property, this is clear from the description and the pictures. The owner has taken measures to ensure their guests privacy during their stay, and has fitted privacy blinds at Roughwood and in their own home. The garden at Roughwood is completely private and enclosed. We have received no other complaints regarding the property being semidetached, we hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

Well appointed, extremely clean, great hosts. Only criticism would be no WiFi so could not download cycling routes etc (should have been better prepared) but good 4g signal

  • "We found the holiday accommodation to be sparklingly clean and Covid secure."

All the appliances worked well, being relatively new and modern. The bed was particularly comfortable and there was sufficient room to store our possessions. The owners were particularly hospitable - we enjoyed numerous conversations with members of the family. The property afforded us the opportunity to have privacy as well as the comfort of knowing that help was always at hand. We thought that the arrangements for eating indoors were somewhat cramped and the bar stools were rather uncomfortable to sit at for any length of time. We were aware that there was no wifi at the property - there is 4G coverage although this was sometimes less than adequate when we were indoors. It was a pleasurable stay with so many varied things to do in terms of outdoor pursuits. It is a beautiful part of the world, worthy of revisiting in the future.

Lovely sunny position and beautiful to soak up the sounds of nature. This cottage was so beautiful, high quality, spotlessly clean, light and airy. Far exceeded expectations. The family, including their 2 lovely boys, are so welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wishing a refreshing, peaceful holiday. Excellent location down a quiet lane yet good for reaching all locations within the New Forest. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. A very definite recommendation from me.
