Surrounded by the tranquil countryside of the River Sheppey Valley, you’ll find plenty of walks and bike rides to enjoy, however the small historic city of Wells is only three miles away, where you’re sure to enjoy browsing the quaint boutiques and marvelling at the beautiful cathedral.

The charming village of Croscombe lies more or less equidistant between Wells and Shepton Mallet, surrounded by pretty Somerset countryside. Nestling beneath the Mendip Hills in the valley of the River Sheppey, the village offers a thriving local shop and pub. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Croscombe was the centre of the woollen trade, and subsequently, many of the attractive cottages which now adorn the conservation area were constructed during those prosperous years. The nearby historic town of Shepton Mallet offers a delightful mixture of old and new, with some wonderful ancient architecture and a weekly market, plus a variety of shops, pubs and eateries.
