    Three generations have varied likes. This is a recently refurbished Scandi house. The 2 yo and dog Loved garden and toys. But the olds found the furniture uncomfortable and appliances tricky. More detailed info could help future guests find their way.

The property

Nestled within walking distance of the beach and boasting stunning sea views in the scenic suburb of Southbourne, Dorset, is this remarkable property, 4 Dalmeny Road.

Set over three floors and sleeping up to eight guests, 4 Dalmeny Road is an impressive base for families looking to discover the delights of the Jurassic Coast.

Enter into the property and continue through the spacious hallway into the beautifully-appointed open-plan living space, perfect for hosting a large get-together for all of the family.

The enclosed garden has a large decking area with outdoor lounge furniture as well as a dining table and chairs.

There is a good sized area of lawn as well as a children’s play area, including swings, a climbing frame, trampoline and sand pit; perfect for the little ones to entertain themselves in the fresh sea air.

Put your feet up after a fun-filled day and unwind as you catch up on your favourite shows in the inviting seating area, cosying around the rustic woodburning stove on the cooler evenings.

Continue the fun and battle the kids with a game of table football, pool or air hockey in the adjoining games room or sit and read a book and after working up an appetite, gather the family around the dining table as the designated chef prepares a hearty meal in the well-equipped Neptune kitchen or in the warmer months take in the sea air as you enjoy a spot of alfresco dining from the barbecue through the patio doors to the enclosed garden.

Continuing upstairs to the second floor you'll find a third bathroom, featuring a spacious walk-in shower, impeccable in design with black accent detailing as well as his and hers sinks for your convenience.

Retire to the spectacular double bedroom, where natural light fills the room through the floor to ceiling windows, and switch on the TV as you snuggle up on the plush sofa or simply enjoy the extensive views, offering a place of solace from the main area of the house.

The extended landing provides a quiet nook comprising of a comfy sofa and stunning views across Hengistbury Head nature reserve, Mudeford spit, Christchurch harbour and the Isle of Wight.

Escape onto the private balcony with your significant other to enjoy a refreshing glass of wine as you take in the captivating views across the coast and soak in the ocean breeze.

Perfectly situated, being a 2 minute walk away from a stunning, dog-friendly, sandy beach with its flora and fauna and turquoise water!

The beach is accessible by two routes from the house with slipways suitable for those with restricted abilities.

Take a left to walk down the beach and around Hengistbury Head or hang a right to head down to Boscombe and Bournemouth, famed for their piers.

If it's walking that you are after head down towards Hengistbury Head, it is around 2 minutes walk to the grassy fields surrounding the head which you can walk across to access the steeper climb up to enjoy the breathtaking views over Southbourne, Bournemouth Bay, Christchurch Harbour, the famous Mudeford spit with the colourful (and rather expensive!) beach huts, Mudeford and across to the Isle of Wight.

These views can also be taken in from the master suite in the loft of the property.

The Hiker cafe is perfect for a quick bite to eat and a cup of tea whilst you explore whilst the Visitor centre will give you a good insight into the head and nature reserve. Continue on from the head and you can walk along Mudeford spit; there you will find a selection of kiosks serving various food and drink.

For a full day excursion, hop on the ferry to Mudeford harbour to do some crabbing, grab some seafood or an ice cream from the Noisy Lobster restaurant and get the little train back from the spit to the visitor centre. Tuckton and Christchurch, spanning either side of the River Stour are within walking distance providing plenty of shops and eateries.

The River Stour is the perfect place to hire a motor boat or to take a kayak or paddleboard on for a beautiful adventure. Christchurch, famous for The Priory church, castle ruins and swans is a lovely town which is well worth a day out. Heading slightly further afield there is the New Forest which is a mere 10 minute drive away.

For those avid picnic-ers or walkers it is a must see; you could quite literally spend weeks exploring all of it's amazing areas. There are three sets of convenience stores, shops and takeaways within walking distance so you don't even need to get into your car when you get here.

Bistro on the Beach just to the right of the slipway serves breakfast, lunch, dinner as well as snacks from it's kiosk.
