  • "Great property was really clean welcome pack was an added touch great location and friendly neighbours."

There was everything you needed. Our only issue was the mattress did not have much support. The single beds were firmer but we should have tried them before we used the double. I would highly recommend this house you will a great stay

  • "Buttercups is a lovely place to stay."

We really enjoyed ourselves. The owners were friendly and helpful. The new chair in the lounge is great and very comfy. If we were to recommend any changes we would say that the dining table is a bit big for the space and difficult to get the chairs underneath and they need a better pair of tongs in the kitchen for flipping bacon

Nice modern bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable but the bedding was a bit tired and could do with replacing.

  • "Great location close to West."

Bay on the bus route to all the Jurassic coast. Electric car charger no problems (code provided in good time) Comfortable for us 2 adults snd our 2 small dogs, limited hanging /storage space may be problematic for more guests. recently modernised to a good standard. Being really picky, as there is no tumble dryer would benefit from an additional set of towels, would struggle to wash and dry within the day on a wet day, also a mirror downstairs would have been useful.

I am originally from Bridport so I knew this would be good. The house suited me perfectly and I will definitely stay again.

  • "Yes great location."

The walk to West Bay was better then expected as I was thinking of a sandy walk to the beach but was a proper pathway which was popular with locals and holiday makers and well maintained. I would suggest putting more comfortable mattress on the single beds but we did'nt use these so not a problem. very good stay will return tks Keith & Janet

  • "My 3rd stay at Buttercups and just as satisfied with this clean, well equipped extremely well located holiday home."

My only niggle is the garden is looking a bit sad and unloved now, a tidy up and some more planting would really enhance it as it's a sun trap and well enclosed for my dog. But otherwise an enjoyable stay (despite appalling weather) and we will be back for sure.

  • "When we arrived the house was very cold and there was no heating so we looked for instructions."

We found some in a drawer saying the thermostat was in the kitchen but there was no such thermostat. The heating ‘smart’ system is in fact managed via the host’s app but can be adjusted using a small clock like thing in the sitting room.I found this out via a number of phone calls and a visit the following day by the host. He said we were the first guests to have a problem with the heating, that the new system had been in place for a couple of years and he wasn’t concerned that the instructions left to guests were (two years?)out of date. I think the house had been unoccupied for some time. It was very cold. After the host had sorted things out it was fine.

After receiving a call from head office to find out the customer was having problems with the heating (even though my contact number is in the welcome book) I went to the house within 30 minutes. The guest was not there even though the house was unlocked, after a phone call we arranged for my partner to visit in the evening, when she would be back, to talk through it with her. The heating controls are Nest so its just a case of turning the dial to change the temperature in the house. As its a smart stat we can read the temperature from the mobile app, no other customer has had any problems but obviously we were accommodating and helpful as maybe not everyone knows how to use it. We set a programme that worked for the customer to make it easier for the heating to come on for her when needed. To override the programme, you simply turn the stat. The house has not been unoccupied for any long periods so far this year. The issue with the heating was resolved the same day that we were notified. Other than this we hope that you enjoyed your stay at Buttercups. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed."

Great location, with a great footpath to the beach, perfect for walking dogs and avoiding the main road. Only one tiny negative is the lack of seating in the living room. Very comfy sofa but only seats two so was difficult for a family of four to watch tv in the evening.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Buttercups in West Bay."

The house is ideally situated for walking into the harbour and travel further afield. There is a Spar very close by for any shopping requirements and lovely walks to be had. The house is very modern and comfortable, with an enclosed garden. There is space for two cars at the back of the property. The only negative would be if our party was four adults (not three plus a small child as was our party) because the seating in the lounge (which was fine for us) only facilities three adults comfortably. To make this a perfect location I would purchase another lounge chair.

  • "We have had a wonderful holiday at Buttercups and would highly recommend staying here."

The house made an excellent base for our weeks holiday. Very clean on arrival, comfortable beds, great bathroom. The location is perfect, just a 10-12 minute walk from West Bay harbour and a 25 minute walk into Bridport. My only comment would be that while the sofa in the living room is comfortable it's only big enough for 2 people and the other seating is not comfortable for long, so sitting altogether in the evening to watch a film was not an option for the 4 of us. Not a problem as the weather was so good we were sitting outside in the garden a lot, but had we had a rainy week this might have been frustrating.

  • "Buttercups is a lovely little house in a wonderful location."

The house has everything you could need. The kitchen was well stocked and they provided all washing up items as well. Lovely to have a pint of milk and a scrummy box of biscuits on arrival as well. Much appreciated. The shower was somewhat leaky as mentioned in our phone call and I feel you could afford for the master bed to but a bit bigger and the dining table to be a bit smaller. These are personal opinions of course. A fantastic house in a brilliant location.

The dining room table was far too big for such a small house.Lack of storage space upstairs and the only hanging cupboard was filled with ironing board iron travel cot and clothes horse that we had to remove before using .No TV in bedroom was disappointing .House not as clean as expected with dirt under settee cushions .When we arrived the outside dustbins were full as I guess they had not been put out for weeks surely the owners should check this .on the positive the garden was great for the dogs good parking and 100% for location

  • "All good - is it possible to exclude the automatic £21 charge for dogs leading to us having to spend time emailing and calling?"

After 3 emails were ignored I called and all was good but surely the charge should be added if a dog is included and not assumed? To a cynic this could look like a money grabbing exercise hoping the client doesn't notice?

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you had this issue. The problem has now been corrected. We are delighted you enjoyed your holiday at Buttercups. Property Owner

The house was clean, neat and obviously well maintained. The welcome pack of milk, coffee, tea and biscuits was very appreciated. We plan to book again and thoroughly recommend this property 10 out of 10. The observations below are intended to improve this outstanding site further and to guide other guests. The toilet door squeaks on closing and can disturb light sleepers, the towel rail does not heat up at the top and may need bleeding, the latch on the outside gate is difficult to shut from the outside and may need oiling. To repeat, this is a fantastic property and i look forward to booking again, thank you to the owners for allowing us to have a wonderful break with our grandchildren.

Buttercups is a lovely place to stay, it has everything you need, the one thing that lets it down is the settee for sure but that is going to be replaced quite soon I believe, the whole house is well equipped and the garden is great if you have dogs, the walk in to West Bay is really pleasant, Bridport just a short drive away, if you have any problems the owners are on the end of the phone and nothing is too much trouble for them
