  • "Fantastic place, our second stay this year."

Home from home with kitchen utensils etc. would definitely recommend. Only problem is cannot walk anywhere from it due to no pathways. Hoping there is a hidden field wall somewhere we can find when it’s a bit drier

  • "A very conformable stay."

The cabin was nice and warm on arrival. Very well equipped ideal for a family stay. Nice hot water and good pressure. Good internet and phone signal. Very comfortable bed, Great nights sleep all week. The welcome pack and flowers on the table was a nice touch (thank you ) Although fairly close to the airport flight path we were not affected by aircraft noise at all. In fact a Great location only 15 minutes to Bristol airport. The only negative point was ,at night time ,it was very dark although there is an outside light,it does not illuminate the path from the cabin to the driveway . I almost fell down the steps as they it was so dark at night. If a solar panelled light could be installed to the corner of the cabin, that would be a wise move otherwise an accident will occur. Thank you for a Very relaxing and comfortable weeks break. John and Helen

  • "What a lovely cabin, we arrived on the 28th December and we walked into a warm cosy cabin the Christmas tree was lit and we couldn’t of asked for a more warmer welcome!"

The accommodation is spacious and very clean. The welcome pack was lovely and they have literally thought of everything you could possibly need which was brilliant as we wanted to visit the local butcher and do some cooking. The information pack was clear and had lots of info on places to visit. The location of the cabin was perfect for getting around and there is so many things to do and place to dine in the surrounding areas would highly recommend a visit to the wells market and cathedral and Cheddar. I will say if you wanted to walk to the local pub it could be a little dangerous as no actual pathway but we didn’t try out the golf club which could be an option but for us this was a good thing as wanted to recover from Christmas anyway lol. The hosts are fantastic as due to heavy rain our lights went out and within minutes David was with us to get the problem sorted out. My only issue which isn’t a big thing it just would just of been great for me being lazy in the morning if there was a fenced in area we could just let the dog out and if we return in the summer which we would like to do we wouldn’t have to worry about the patio doors being open and him running off. A great stay and a great place would highly recommend a stay here!

  • "We had a lovely stay at Down the Rabbit Hole."

The welcome pack was the best we've ever had, so thankyou Samantha and David! The location is perfect and we had some lovely days out, also great local pubs nearby. There are a couple of suggestions l would like to make for further guests. A grab rail for the bath or at very least a nonslip rubber mat and secondly there is only one sofa so if there were more than 3 guests they would struggle to find comfortable seating. The beds were extremely comfy! Thanks again for welcoming us

So glad you enjoyed your stay. There are extra chairs in the cabin to use as extra seating but we will definitely see if a second small sofa could be feasible. Thanks for your comments about the welcome pack and beds. Property Owner

It was one of the hottest weeks of the year but the ceiling fans helped to keep the property cool. The owners, Amanda and David, were very quick to respond to any queries and provided a lovely welcome pack with local goodies. The property is well situated for exploring Somerset and close to local amenities. I thoroughly recommend it.

So kind of you to take the time to write an appreciative review for us. We put a lot of effort into the cabin with the finishing touches like the welcome pack with the wine and the local goodies. Love happy guests Property Owner

The cabin had everything needed for our stay and our children loved the big field to play on. Somerset is a beautiful part of the country and there is so much to see and do easily accessed from the cabin.

So pleased you enjoyed the log cabin. Sometimes the simplest games played together in the field make a holiday special. We obviously know Somerset is a fantastic part of the country and to discover what it offers for the first time must be fun. Thank you so much for writing the review. Property Owner

Fantastic welcome pack was a lovely surprise on arrival. Enjoyed watching the deer and playing rounders on the field. Nice quiet rural location with a great open-plan social space for our party to spend time together. We met our host once during our stay, really friendly and helpful but left us alone to enjoy our holiday whilst making sure we knew how to contact them if we had any problems (we didn’t). Would highly recommend.

We took some great pictures. The cabin was very clean and well equipped with all you need, lots of cups plates and cutlery etc. Beds were very comfortable too, ceiling fans in all rooms, nice touch. Well equipped all round. The one thing I would like to mention is there were no towel rails in the bathrooms also the bath could do with a grab rail. All in all we had a lovely two weeks and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a holiday within about 20/30 minutes of the seaside and most other venues.

Hi there Linda, thank you for the review. those sunsets can be very beautiful there from the large patio. We have addressed the grab rail idea as others have mentioned this and there is on now for future guests. We haven't put up towel rails because we have the two towel hooks by the showers. We will certainly see what we can do about that. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay and the glorious weather was such a bonus to appreciate the beautiful setting of Down The Rabbit Hole."

We appreciated the eclectic style and attention to detail - I think there is everything there you could possibly need for a great holiday - with many thoughtful additions such as umbrellas, a pack of toothbrushes/razors in case you forgot to pack them. We loved watching the planes coming and going from Bristol airport (I will add they were in the distance and not over-head so there was no noise pollution). Down The Rabbit Hole is well positioned for the coast and so many tourist attractions. There were no negatives for us at all - the only things I would say are - it would be worth mentioning in the details there is a ramp/walkway as well as the couple of steps up to the cabin (if you have restricted mobility). Although completely flat inside there is a threshold to the front and patio door entrances so not suitable for a wheelchair. The fridge door tends to swing back and hit the wall and I noticed black paint marks on the wall and missing paint where the fridge catches the wall (top left corner) - maybe helpful to save your fridge by sticking a small rubber protector to the wall to prevent further damage. We loved the welcome pack (thank you for providing) - the yogurt would probably have been better in the fridge than in the hamper as it was a really hot day and had been sat there for quite a few hours before we arrived. Those comments are just to be helpful as we absolutely loved our stay and would have liked to stay longer - but it was not available so we are sat inside another holiday cottage writing this review. We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending to others.

Hi there Christopher and fellow guests. A heart warming review to receive...thank you so much. We do always put the yoghurt/wine etc in the fridge now. A really practical suggestion! Noted about the fridge catching..that will save us painting the wall all the time. Will also mention the ramp in the description, thanks for that recommendation. Would be great to have you back when we have the availability! Property Owner

Hello there to you and your family. We really enjoyed having you to stay because as a family group on holiday you all seemed to have fun together and get into the spirit of a log cabin holiday in the countryside. Loved your mini badminton "court' and the fact that you used the space in the field in front of the cabin to enjoy the outdoors. • "We were very disappointed."

Although the place was clean, it wasn't comfortable. A hotchpotch of ill matching utensils and crockery, and nowhere in the bathrooms to put our stuff. There were a million flies and no attempt made to deter them. However, we were grateful for the ceiling fans. Also no secure WIFI. The "guide" indicated that there were instructions for the appliances at the back. Well I never found them. I understand that the owner is new to the business, so my criticism is intended to be constructive.

Dear Guest. We feel devastated as hosts of our lovely log cabin that you seemed unable to enjoy its eclectic atmosphere. My other guests have often said how much they have appreciated the collections of retro china and different utensils and personal touches that I spend many hours sourcing. Unfortunately, sets of Ikea plates and packs of supermarket cutlery are not my equipment choices. This is a countryside log cabin and not a genereric, shiny mobile home that looks exactly the same as every other mobile home on a big site. We put thought and care into Down the Rabbit Hole and obviously on this occasion it was not to your taste. Pleasing everyone is difficult of course. I noticed you haven't mentioned about the generous welcome pack? Very detailed instructions are left for everything, so understanding why brochures for appliances were also required is a little mystifying. There is a large bathroom cabinet and shelves in the bathrooms. We will add to this if you felt it was insufficient of course. Your discomfort felt is baffling to us as some guests have even said they could happily live in the cabin, watching the wildlife go by. Property Owner
