  • "This is our third Christmas at 1 Dolphin Cottage."

    My Brother, myself and our dogs Angus and Mai, two lovely Scotties. As usual we have had a great time exploring and getting to know Lyme Regis. Only sad the great dinosaur museum was closed for working on extra features but that is something to look forward to if we are lucky enough to come again. We have done plenty of walking, window shopping, spending and simply enjoying time together. A great place to stay, super clean with plenty of home comforts.

    The Christmas tree on our arrival was a lovely surprise. Lyme always looks so beautiful at Christmas & we have thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants, pubs & the Christmas market at Symondsbury. Looking forward to returning next year.

    The welcome hamper was excellent, we only stayed 3 days so this was perfect for a few snacks and hot drinks as we ate out. The only tips I’d offer would be a lighter duvet for summer or maybe some fans and perhaps remove the rug on the landing as it moves around.

  • "We really really enjoyed our holiday at Dolphin cottage."

    We didn’t realise from the listing that the house is split into two cottages so it’s smaller than maybe you might think. This didn’t detract from the cottage though, which we thought was gorgeous. It was so light and airy, so comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was absolutely unbeatable and the whole street and area is beautiful! The parking is a super bonus too. Loved it and would be delighted to return at any point even in the winter with the fire on and a vibrant wind swept beach. Thank you for our stay and for our bag of goodies!

  • "We stayed at 1 Dolphin Cottages in July for 4 days."

    The cottage was lovely. The cottage is situated close to the town and beach. Fantastic to have a parking space as parking in Lyme is expensive. Also to have some outside space was a real plus ! The cottage was clean and light. We will be back !

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and cosy."

    The bedroom was a particularly lovely and relaxing environment with a very comfy bed. The kitchen was very well equipped. I had misunderstood that the garden wasn’t directly accessed from the house, but via the shared corridor and a space shared with the next door houses, so it meant having to get dressed to take the dog outside for his morning wee, but that’s no biggie, as long as you’re aware. It was great having the parking space at the back. So handy. I was initially a bit concerned that the door into the house wasn’t very sturdy as I was on my own, but the doors at the end of the shared corridor are sturdy.

    We were pleased to hear that you found the cottage comfortable and cosy. The garden now has an enclosed picket fence around it, making it more private. Also regarding the door, this can be locked by a key from the inside which is secure. We were also pleased that you found the kitchen well equipped. Property Owner

  • "Another wonderful stay at 1 Dolphin Cottage."

    Appears owners have undertaken a refresh. Re-decorated, new and very comfortable sofa as well as new fridge with ice compartment. Location perfect- close to all the amenities including an even walk to the beach. Easy accessible parking at the cottage is a godsend! Very clean, comfortable beds and everything was in the cottage that we needed for a very enjoyable stay. Many Thanks

    Beautifully presented. Parking space is tight if other cars are present - we scraped the gate post and damaged our car due to a thoughtlessly parked car in another spot protruding past their parking space. Ended up using the larger car park up the hill.

Located in the heart of the quaint seaside town of Lyme Regis, Dorset, 1 Dolphin Cottages offers characterful accommodation close to the town centre, beaches, and famous Cobb harbour.

This pet-friendly cottage is the perfect base for a family or couple looking to holiday in Dorset at any time of the year.

Once forming part of Lyme’s many inns and converted back to cottages, Dolphin Cottage retains much charm and offers characterful accommodation with bright and airy décor throughout.

The sitting room houses an ornamental fireplace, tasteful furniture, and a window seat, where you can enjoy your favourite book, or watch the world go by.

Rustle up a family dinner in the freshly styled kitchen with all of the amenities to assist you in your self-catering requirements.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a spacious king-size bedroom at the front of the cottage and a smaller bedroom, with bunk beds, located at the rear.

The bright family bathroom is also located on this floor and has a bath with shower over, ideal for a refreshing morning shower before you begin your day. Outside the garden, located at the rear of the property, is a peaceful place to enjoy the sun, or evening drinks.

Mainly gravel with a patio area and mature cottage planting, this delightful space provides the opportunity to dine alfresco during the warmer months of the year.

The cottage is set back from the hustle and bustle of the town but is in quiet street with fairly level access to the sea, only a short stroll away.

Lyme Regis is a thriving seaside town full of amazing activities and intriguing history and is well known for being the heart of the Jurassic Coast, where visitors can enjoy walks along the seafront and south west coast path, as well as spending time on the beaches with the family perhaps finding fossils amongst the rocky shores.

If you wish to know more about the prehistoric world hidden beneath the rocks, take a visit to Dinosaurland Fossil Museum in Lyme Regis or the Heritage Coast Centre at Charmouth.

The area offers a great selection of eateries, restaurants and pubs, many of which showcase local food and beverages, and there are also ample independent stores selling local art and craft to be explored.

Other popular days out include the Axe Valley Wildlife Park or the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, which is open throughout the year.
