  • "Although we knew that it was quite a small unit (and we saw a few photos) the bedroom was very tight as we wanted to get into the bed both sides which only gave us about 9 inches each side!"

The sink in the bathroom is far too small. The 2 sliding doors didn’t close right up (stops not put in the right place?) which previous occupants had noted. The door to the property needs some sort of blind (even though it is opaque glass). Small bin or something similar in the bathroom is needed. Overall we had a good week and it was well placed for local trips. Also the village had a pub (which also did food) and a small well stocked shop. A nice welcome pack was appreciated. The owner said that he had plans to open up an adjoining room to the unit. Overall we were quite happy with the week here and would probably stay again.

Lovely place to stay wonderful hosts beautiful garden for our use it was very hot weather village only had one pub and although very welcoming a bbq would have been a nice touch for us to cook on outdoors

  • "The Hosts were welcoming an their was a generous welcome pack."

However there was an ever present musty smell. There were also rats feeding off bird feed on the lawn. Unfortunately, we felt this was poor value for money.

  • "My wife and I are retired and have used many self catering holidays."

Ali and Eddie offer such a friendly welcome. They loved our dog! The cottage was absolutely spotless and contained everything a holidaymaker could wish for - even a rolling pin which we didnt use!!! We had relatives call on us during our stay and Ali made them so welcome. Such a warm couple!! Will probably book again for a weekend break next year which we have never done before and you will understand what a lovely holiday they made for us!!!! Malcolm & Brenda George

  • "The host's were very friendly, especially with my two dogs."

They were also helpful, including recommending local walks and places to visit. The Black Dog pub and Spar/Post Office are both friendly and offer a good service and only a short walk. The weather was very hot during our stay and the property did get hot, even keeping the curtains and blinds closed during the day when we were out, but this was exceptional weather for the UK. I'm sure if we had asked for a fan, one would have been provided, but we were out most of the day/night, so didn't bother. We enjoyed our stay and loved the local area, especially for the walks. The only small issues we had was the door lock is difficult to turn, even though I was told that it was recently replaced, and the sliding door to the ensuite didn't fully close, but as there was only my dogs and I staying in the property it wasn't an issue and was going to be sorted after we departed. It should be noted that the ensuite is small and an obese person would struggle with the size, especially the shower cubicle, but it was fine for me. I would recommend The Hideout to couples or a single person, especially those who like to go on holiday with their four legged friends. Finally, thanks to the hosts for making our stay pleasant.

Thank you so much for your lovely words, we enjoyed having you stay here with your little doggies and we are pleased you enjoyed it here, we have taken note on your comments and will address them accordingly. We hope you will come back again , thank you once again and give them two doggies a cuddle from me Property Owner
