  • "Lovely, spacious holiday cottage."

Great location for visiting local places of interest. Pilton is a very pretty village and has an amazing gastro pub (definitely recommend a visit). The local co-op is very useful and has a decent array of essentials. The garden could do with a bit of TLC. The time of year of our visit meant that we didn't spend much time at all in the garden. But, a little tidy up by cutting back shrubs and removing weeds would make it so much better. The cottage was very close to the road but didn't really cause any concern. Noisier than we're used to but there's nothing that can be done about that. Overall a very good holiday cottage.

  • "The cottage was delightful with plenty of parking outside."

Funny to talk about the floors, but with dogs and a bit of a rain, it was lovely to not have to worry about paw prints on a carpet, we could just easily clean the tiled floors. The beds were superbly comfortable, the kitchen and dining room had everything we needed. The house is a lovely size for 6 people (though we had 5 and 3 visitors who dined with us). It was perfect. Many thanks. Many thanks.

  • "Well positioned cottage for exploring Somerset."

It had a nice vibe to it and we all loved the Harry Potter engravings on the woodwork surround to the hob. Apologies for not signing the guestbook

  • "Upon arrival at the cottage on a cold March afternoon we expected the cottage to be warm and welcoming, instead it was absolutely freezing!"

The heating had been turned off and the thermostat was only set to 13 degrees! It made our arrival very disappointing after having travelled over 4 hrs to reach it! We immediately turned the heating on and reset the thermostat to 22 degrees. It however took the cottage well over 24 hours to reach a reasonable temperature and we had to eat our first meal in front of the open log burner on our laps with our coats on! So fair to say not a good start to our holiday and what made it worse is that it was a surprise holiday for my husbands birthday. We contacted the owners who apologised that the heating should of been left on for us as the cottage had not been occupied for a few weeks beforehand. It didn't help that the sitting room had no door into the dining room (which remained too cold throughout our holiday to use) so when we ate any meals at the cottage it had to be on our laps in the sitting room! We managed to make a makeshift curtain door using a broom balanced on a chair with a bungy attached to the stairs and the sitting room did manage to maintain its warmth a bit better after that. However, on a more positive note the kitchen equipment and goods were of an extremely high standard probably the best I have ever come across which helped to make up for the cold cottage. So yes I would recommend this property but not perhaps during the winter months!

Dear Julie, thanks very much for staying and apologies again for the heating issue. We have now remedied the problem and routinely ensure the house is warmed up prior to guests arriving. Your other suggestions are also well made and we'll act on those. We hope we can welcome you back soon for a cosy stay in every season. Thanks again. Property Owner
