  • "What a lovely warm welcome from Jan, the host."

The welcome basket was a lovely touch too! I spent my week clearing out my mums house after she passed away recently and the annex provided a cosy, homely, peaceful retreat at the end of long chaotic days. I loved the comfy furniture and well equipped kitchen and the wonderful views from the annex, watching the birds in the trees and enjoying the peace and quiet and even the odd clip-clop of horses. Although I didn’t visit local attractions, I am a Somerset girl, and have lived in the locale previously. There is such a lot to see and do, this really is a good base for exploring!

  • "Our third stay in the annexe at West Moor Cottage this year when we have explored the surrounding area from this clean and comfortable accommodation."

The garden in the height of summer is a delight to relax in, and the views from the windows are equally enjoyable. There are four National Trust properties not far away. Our favourite is Montacute House and the ‘Lady’s Walk’ high in the woods that is not to be missed. Thank you yet again Jan and Steve for your warm welcome. Janet and John.

  • "I counted the number of times we have stayed in holiday cottages in our 58 years of married life (45)."

This was by far the best.Outside the quiet, the views, they were just perfect. Even with the rain. It was just a pity that we could not sit on the balcony or in the garden when we were at home, but that wasn't the owners fault. We have already recommended it to several friends who want a getaway holiday. The kitchen was exceptional equipped. Everything I wanted was there. I could find no fault with the annex.

  • "Simply fabulous."

Really comfortable and high quality accommodation, beautiful location, and the welcome from our hosts couldn't have been warmer. Lots to do within a 45 minute drive, but we enjoyed leaving the car, visiting the cider farm 500m away, and walking the myriad local footpaths through orchards. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

  • "The Annex is without doubt one of the best properties we have booked."

It is immaculately clean and very well maintained and has everything you need to hand. The location is beautiful with stunning views from every window. The welcome basket was indeed very welcome with locally sourced bread and eggs laid by the owners hens. But the real bonus was the wonderfully friendly owners Jan & Steve, thank you both for a wonderful week.

It is clean and well equipped and it is set in beautiful surroundings, with the use of a gorgeous garden and fabulous views. Jan is a very caring and helpful host and was kind enough to leave us a lovely welcome basket, which was very much appreciated. We felt very relaxed and at home there and would have no hesitation in returning. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday in wonderful countryside.

  • "This place is a real find!"

The property is fantastic. Perfectly situated for quiet days away but not too far from some great places to visit. Internally it's perfectly formed for two. Well presented with everything you could need. Jan and Steve are perfect hosts to. Really friendly and always keen to help in whatever way they can. Loved the welcome basket that was a lovely touch. Would certainly consider a return visit.

  • "Absolutely ideal for two people."

Jan the owner welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. We were allowed total privacy, but Jan was always available if needed. Everything we required for a comfortable stay was there. West Moor Cottage Annex is in a lovely spot, with beautiful countryside views. The garden is very pretty and private, a perfect sun trap. Unfortunately we only managed one afternoon out there due to a rather showery week for our visit. The garden furniture is excellent. The decking area at the top of the access stairs is also perfect for sitting out, just right for al fresco breakfasts. We had a most enjoyable week there, and would highly recommend West Moor Cottage Annex. Malc and Sue.

  • "This is our second stay at West Moor Cottage Annexe in a month."

It felt like we were coming home, perhaps because Jan and Steve are so warm and welcoming. The eggs from Jan’s hens and delicious bread that were in the fridge on our arrival were delicious. As before it was very clean and well equipped. And yet again, we were able to enjoy the lovely garden that became our sanctuary, as well as far reaching views from the annexe.

  • "A lovely small hide-away cottage deep in the Somerset Levels."

The whole place is well spec'd, comfortable and clean. Jan is the perfect host, she wants you to enjoy your holiday and stays in contact to make sure you do. There's only a small hot water tank so you have to master using the hot water (not the shower, that electrically heats the water) and the Broadband is painfully slow. But that encourages you to turn off your devices and enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay. Quality accommodation and hosting service, thank you.
