  • "Directions incorrect."

DO NOT leave M5 at junc 22. It should read junc 23. A very quiet location to explore Somerset. There is no WiFi and only terrestial TV.

Thank you for your feedback, the property is accessible from both junction 22 and 23, this all depends on which route you take to the property. The property is advertised with no WiFi and only a terrestrial TV. We are glad you still enjoyed the area. Property Owner

  • "Lovely homely bungalow in rural location which was great for seeing main sites we wanted such as Glastonbury and Wells and Burnham on Sea."

We were met by owner Anita to collect keys and ensure we were comfortable. Milk and a cake awaited us for welcome cup of tea, lovely touch. Bungalow is warm and very comfortable if just a bit dated but was perfect for what we wanted and we would recommend and certainly stay again. The kitchen has every kind of utensil with loads of crockery and cutlery which is great if you have visitors as we did. Unfortunately cooker was not newest and grill was broken and falling down but minor detail as such a cosy, comfortable dwelling. Very satisfied with our stay thanks.

  • "According to your description the cottage had intermittent WIFI."

The cottage in fact had no WiFi whatsoever. Consequently I had to spend money buying data so my grandson could use the internet and keep in touch with his friends. The owner told me that she has asked Sykes to change it to no WiFi and they won’t. I have used Sykes before and have been perfectly happy but will not use them again.

  • "The cottage was spacious and comfortable and well adapted for young children."

The beds were so comfy we slept late every day. The owner was very friendly and helpful and had left some cakes for us to have with a cuppa on arrival which were appreciated by all! The location was peaceful and within easy access (half hour drive) of the beach, Wells, Glastonbury and a number of attractions including Cheddar Gorges and Wookey Hole. The reception for mobile phones and wifi was not good but not too much of a problem as we had access to these at the places we visited during the day. The local pub (1 min from the house) served excellent food and had a handy children's play park. All in all we would highly recommend this cottage.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The cottage being based in Burtle was near to lots of tourist attractions within a 20 minute drive such as Wookey Hole Caves, Burnham, Glastonbury and Clarks Village at Street. Large supermarkets are also about the same distance. It was also nice having a field opposite with horses, we often sat outside watching them. There were also a few board games provided that we played in the cottage and it was really like home from home as others guests have stated.
