The property

Resting in the tranquil and chocolate-box village of Langton Matravers, lies Sea Pink Cottage, a beautiful and newly refurbished Purbeck Stone cottage, just two miles from the seaside town of Swanage.

This inviting retreat is a perfect choice for couples looking to escape normal life and explore the magnificent Jurassic coast.

Be welcomed into the open-plan living space where you can settle down in the warmth of the electric fire and get lost in an enthralling novel, or tune into the TV and catch up on your favourite shows.

Take a perch at the breakfast bar in the kitchen area and plan your holiday itinerary before whipping up a delicious home cooked meal using all the usual conveniences of an electric oven, gas hob and microwave.

When the day draws to a close, retire to the beautiful bedroom, housing a sumptuous king-size bed, complete with quality linens and a plush duvet that is waiting to be curled up in after an action-packed day.

Venturing out from the property, you are just a few minutes from the popular “Kings Arms” public house, serving home cooked meals and local ales, as well as the village shop where you can pick up your daily essentials such as bread, milks and eggs.

Walkers can embark on adventures from the door, particularly along the Priests Way, which leads you along an ancient track passing between quarries and across fields, with glorious views of the countryside.

Swanage can be reached in just over 2 miles and is home to a long stretch of golden sand resting in a sheltered bay, perfect for taking a dip in its clear, shallow waters.

This blue flag beach has a stunning sweeping coastline with many attractions and the town is home to the prized vintage steam railway where you can experience a unique journey through six miles of beautiful scenery passing the magnificent ruins of Corfe Castle.

Sea Pink Cottage will make a fabulous home-away-from-home for you and your better half.

About the location

Swanage 2.6 miles; Wareham 8.2 miles.

The quaint village of Langton Matravers lies on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, two miles west of Swanage and 5 miles south-east of Corfe Castle. The name Langton derives from ‘long town’ and Matravers stems from the name of the Lord who once resided there. Langton Matravers Museum showcases the local history of the town, providing a complete picture of the ways in which the local stone was quarried and used. The surrounding area is very popular for walking and a number of walking trails pass through the village, including the ‘Smugglers Way’ which begins at Worth Matravers and then travels down to the coast path and back again to visit where smugglers were known to bring their goods ashore. The village is also home to a refreshment shop and a traditional village pub which hosts an annual Stone Carving and Pumpkin Festival. Resting on the outside of the village is Dancing Ledge, an old cliff quarry which offers breath-taking views of the coast. Those who are looking for adventure can even climb the rock face or coasteer at the Ledge.
