  • "There are a couple of things i wish to point out on behalf of the females guests."

Two of the bedrooms have no mirrors, also the dish washer broke down and we only had ONE dish cloth for drying. The machine was replaced and all was well. This is our forth visit to this house and it has always lived up to our expectations as dose the island of Portland. See you next year, god willing

  • "This is a lovely property to stay in."

Everything you could need is there. Excellent location within easy reach of the of the sea and all the attractions that the area has to offer. Portland Bill is a must go and see & Billie Winters beach bar on the causeway to the mainland has lovely food and the staff are really friendly too. Nice views and lovely sunsets from the first floor lounge and balcony. We were blessed with the weather and the time we spent at the property was mostly in the garden which was nice and safe for our 2 year old Grandson. There were also stair gates available to use although we had taken our own. Would definitely recommend staying here

  • "This property has the potential to be 5 stars."

Good location, spacious and very comfortable. However it is lacking in love. When we arrived the windows were very dirty and driveway covered in weeds. Within less than an hour of arrival the fuse box tripped, since this is kept in a locked garage we had to call the helpline. It tripped twice more during our 7 night stay. Two of the toilet seats were unsafe, we reported this Sunday and it took until Wednesday afternoon for them to call us. The kitchen was generally well equipped but we did have to buy oven gloves and egg cups. Generally the house was clean but we found rubbish belonging to others in empty cupboards. All of these issues could easily be resolved with a little more attention to detail.

  • "Fabulous holiday home ."

Jurassic Coast House did not disappoint, stayed here with 7 adults and a 18 month old toddler . The kitchen facilities were brilliant with lots of crockery , cooking utensils and pots and pans . The enclosed garden was brilliant and safe for a toddler to run about and as it was Astro turf even with a couple of days of rain she was able to get out into the garden . The beds were comfortable and accessories and decor lovely . The living room space was comfortable and allowed us all to spend quality family time together. There is a expansive collection of dvds , jigsaws , books and games so even on a rainy day there is entertainment . An added bonus was there were several stair gates which made this property even with 2 sets of stairs a safe environment for an inquisitive toddler . Portland is a great place to stay with walks from the door step to the beach , Portland castle , D -Day landing museum ( loved this museum allowing you to climb in all the exhibits and handle the guns etc ) , the Olympic rings and the Royal naval cemetery. An outstanding property ! One thing which may have helped would have been another key as there was only one key which made it slightly difficult when we wanted to do different days out .

  • "A lovely house in a good location."

Excellent facilities, the Sonos devices were an unexpected pleasure. The kitchen was very well equipped with a good supply of baking trays and sharp kitchen knives, things that are often lacking from holiday properties. Our only slight criticism was that the family room could have been cleaner (there was quite a bit of dog hair on the floor) and there was a full food bin and bottle bin in the rear garden when we arrived. We contacted Sykes who came to collect the bins.

  • "Fabulous holiday home and very spacious with a nice garden and plenty of outdoor furniture."

The house has everything you need and has room for 2 cars to park. The only thing I’d recommend you to take is a fan, I took mine and glad I did. The Kingsize bedroom on the second floor has a door which opens onto a sun terrace which is a sun trap which is lovely to sip with a coffee in the morning. There’s a dartboard in the kitchen and there’s plenty of games if you take children and there’s also a Putting hole in the lawn. Good location with plenty of buses and 5 minute walk to get a Ferry to Weymouth which was lovely. No need to drive. Great base to stay. We visited Bridport, Lyme Regis, Chissil Beach and went to Weymouth twice. There are a couple of pubs which have lovely food which you can walk to and some lovely walks. Our last evening went on the opened top bus to see Portland Bill lighthouse which was lovely with great views. Great holiday and didn’t want to come home

Particularly the top bathroom where shower head needs changing, shower controls broken, toilet seat loose. We could not get the main oven to work, which would be a problem if someone wanted to cook daily. Property would benefit from a paint refresh Adding a dog waste bin the the back would be helpful Overall though a very lovely property

Immaculately clean. Just a couple of things. Mirrors in the bedrooms with plug sockets close by. The back gate could not be opened from the outside. We found this out when we went to walk the dogs and then could not get back in!! Despite these things we had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend.

Downstairs toilet smells and there is what seems like constant dripping in the upstairs on suite dressing room. That’s all the negative. Positive lovely house well equipped. Great little island. Lovely walks. Lots to do with Weymouth being near it. Durdle door and lullworth a must. Thoroughly enjoyed our week.

The facilities of the house were great for a family of 4. The location was great for walking within Portland with pubs, fish and chip shop and a shop close by within 5 minutes walk. Cot and high chair available on request. Would recommend and will be back soon hopefully! Only a couple of small improvements: 1. The house could do with a mirror in the natural light (of which there is loads in this house) 2. New blinds/ curtains would be good. Not black out and let so much light in. My 2 year old was up at 5am every morning as a result! 3. The house smelt a little damp at times. Maybe a leak somewhere, the landlord may want to investigate.

Could also do with mirrors in some of the bedrooms near electric points difficult for ladies to do hair and makeup. We will definitely return for another visit it is such a beautiful house.

David from dream cottages was excellent sorted within 30 minutes! Very nice man and friendly ! We also had a power cut on the last night from 20:00hrs to midnight not the cottages fault, external agency, again Sykes were very helpful and supportive. Overall we had a great stay the cottage was looking a little tied and perhaps need painting and the stair carpets were not very clean, a few stains etc which I reported in case we were accused of the damage, certainly will stay again great location all though pricey not sure about 5 star rating borderline 4 we think!

As keen walkers and runners, we didn't use the car once during our stay! The accommodation is spacious (although there were only two of us) and the kitchen well equipped for self catering. The check in and check out was super easy, details provided beforehand was also timely and informative. Only two slight niggles 1) only two dishwasher tablets and one loo roll in each toilet which meant a shopping trip was needed, for the price paid we would have thought there would be sufficient supplies of these two essentials 2) also although it was surface clean the property could do with a deep clean to get rid of the cobwebs, limescale etc. But would definitely stay here again.
