“Fantastic location, beautiful cottage which was well-equipped, very well-maintained, wonderfully clean and very peaceful.”

It was just what we needed to get away from the COVID and US election dramas. Plenty to do on Portland despite the UK going into second lockdown whilst we were there. We enjoyed the pubs and cafes whilst they were open and after lockdown, plenty of take-aways and nearby shops. It was just what we needed to get away from the COVID and US election dramas. Plenty to do on Portland despite the UK going into second lockdown whilst we were there. We enjoyed the pubs and cafes whilst they were open and after lockdown, plenty of take-aways and nearby shops. We also: went walking and running, fished on the beach and took in the sights of Portland and Weymouth. The people on Portland are very friendly. Although there is no parking outside the cottage, there is plenty of parking on Queen Street which is accessible through an alleyway and less than five minutes walk to the car so people shouldn’t be put off by that. Sykes were really good at keeping their website up to date with the lockdown info and the owner of the cottage also emailed us before we arrived so we had her contact details. We had a great time and would highly recommend others to go to Portland and stay in Spring Rose Cottage.
