  • "Thanks for a fantastic holiday!"

Washing machine and enclosed garden are nice additions from our previous stay.

  • "The property was in a fantastic location a few steps from the river and the town centre."

The driveway parking was a god send! We really enjoyed being here and so close to amenities. Note to light sleepers...the priory bells ring all day and ALL through the night (every 15 mins and chime the hours) and the house is right next to it. Bring some ear plugs! The bedrooms on the first floor mask the noise better, but the top floor room is very noisy. The property was very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The small sofa in the lounge was very small and the large one very creaky although comfortable, it worked fine for two of us, but I'm not sure how it would work if the house was at full capacity. The bathroom was very clean, although again, to accommodate 4 adults/2 kids or even 6 adults, it really needs another bathroom, a bigger shower or at the very least another toilet. The kitchen was better equipped than the property description gives it credit for. There is actually a dishwasher (but no washing machine) and there are plenty of utensils. The range cooker is great, but there is very little worksurface prep area in the kitchen, so although a keen cook, I actually did very little during our stay. There is wifi, but it is rather slow. The garden space at the front of the house is very pleasant but if you have a dog, or children, bear in mind it is not fenced off from the road or the driveway. We would certainly visit again, lovely house and fantastic location but only again with the two of us.

  • "Location, location, location!"

Just perfect to explore Christchurch on foot and other coastal places by car. The two car driveway in the centre of town is a godsend. The house was immaculately clean and was as described. Welcome pack a nice touch and kitchen was well stock with utensils for everyday use. I can't speak highly enough about my holiday here, just hoping to go back again.

  • "Nice stay in a nice house."

Bathroom a little dated but fine. Floorboards a little odd underfoot. Lovely location well equipped. Would have 5 stars but had no enclosed space for the dog this couldn’t be helped. We would stay again.

  • "Nice smallish place right next to the river stour quay, the Christchurch high Street shops and Priory, a bustling Street in peak season leading to the popular Boathouse pub restaurant which does put on live music, so bare that in mind, Ideal for a smaller family with a dog, no rear garden and the front patio area is shingle and open to the path, so remember to take some grates to fence in this area for your beloved pet."

All hard flooring, mostly painted floor boards, smaller than it looks, but a good base for the town, Bournemouth, Poole, a walk to Hengistbury Head etc.. we do not plan to return as its a little smaller than we are used to, but if offered We would stay again but for no more than a week, If the weather is nice and if you are bringing a dog or a couple of kids you'll enjoy this place no doubt.

About the location

CHRISTCHURCH

Bournemouth 6 miles.

The attractive Dorset waterside town of Christchurch is situated on the estuaries of the Rivers Stour and Avon, where they come together to form a magnificent natural harbour. Christchurch is a real gem of a town, offering visitors a wonderful and diverse holiday experience. The town centre boasts an array of charming shops and quality restaurants, whilst the 11th century castle ruins and the glorious Medieval priory, the longest parish church in the country, are well worth visiting. No trip to Christchurch would be complete unless you have strolled down to the pretty quayside, where you can enjoy refreshments whilst watching the ever changing boating scene, or you may wish to take one of the regular boat trips along the peaceful River Stour. Take your buckets and spades to one of the gorgeous sandy beaches nearby, and enjoy a ferry trip across the mouth of the harbour from Mudeford Quay to the sandbank with its colourful array of little beach huts. Should you tire of all the local attractions you’ll find plenty to do in the nearby family-friendly resort of Bournemouth, or venture into the New Forest National Park, both just a short drive away. Alternatively head to the local beach at Southborne which has a promenade that takes you through to Boscombe and on to Bournemouth. The lovely waterside town of Christchurch offers visitors a delightful and interesting year round holiday destination.
