  • "This is an amazing property with fantastic views over the sea, made possible by having the huge living area upstairs."

    The owner was very helpful and welcoming too. The place had plenty of room for 8 people and all the facilities needed. It's in an excellent position at the end of a quiet lane, 5 min walk down to the beach with its cafe and bars. Also other beaches and walks close by. The 3 mile walk to The Needles is highly recommended!

  • "Absolutely amazing place to stay."

    The switched level accommodation works very well with lovely views to the coast. The main sitting/dining area is actually bigger than it looks in the photos- lots of space in the whole house. Perfect for older families. Fee minutes walk to the beach which is great for swimming/paddling. Great grange of eateries by the beach too - different prices and styles. I would highly recommend the accommodation as its a great base and lovely house. The only reasons I've given it 4 stars, not 5, are because there was a lack of cutlery (only 6 of each which meant washing up more frequently), only 2 comfy outdoor seats on the balcony and only a single light in the garden. The owner was very helpful when asked things and replied swiftly. For us it felt slightly odd to have him living above the garage of the property while you are there, especially when that part of the property also looks out onto the garden.

  • "The house was perfect for us."

    (7 adults, an 8 year old, a baby and a very well behaved dog). We all had plenty of space and it was great being just a 3 minute walk from the beach. Lots of nearby attractions and over the 5 days we were there we only used our cars on one of the days. Buses were easy to access as were local shops and takeaways. The house was very well equipped, comfy and a had a lovely enclosed garden. The balcony view was beautiful. We had a very relaxing holiday with 3 generations of our family.

  • "We had a wonderful time and the house was beautiful."

    Well done Kevin. Plenty of room so we were not under each other space. Lovely garden for our dog Winston (our lab). Lovely and clean and plenty of bathrooms. Near local attractions and on a bus route (for our son ) who could go out on his own. Beds were comfortable and the towels were brand new. I would recommend this house to anyone and we will be back next year. The telescope kept my husband entertained. Thank you to Kevin for a fantastic week.

  • "One of the nicest houses we’ve stayed in!"

    Amazing views of Colwell bay and Tennyson down, the house is light and very spacious and ideally located for the beach, The Hut and all the amenities at Freshwater. We were two families of 7 people and had plenty of space. We will be back!

  • "All bedrooms could accommodate a 5ft bed… which definitely would have been more comfortable & the bed linen was awful!"

    It seemed as though the towels hadn’t been used before, as most of us experienced lint on our bodies after drying ourselves! I have been in the holiday let business for nearly 3 decades & the comments I get back continuously are the fab comfy beds, beautiful white bed linen & sumptuous towels! This keeps guests returning. I also felt there was way too much personal memorabilia around the house - guests like a fuss free environment:) The reason I’m bothering to be this picky is that the entertaining space was amazing & we would love to return if the bedroom situation changed.

  • "We had a very relaxing week’s holiday at Sea Breeze in February - the house has everything needed for a comfortable stay and is in a great location with easy access to Colwell Bay and great walks along the seafront."

    The owner was very helpful with any queries we had and we enjoyed the lovely views from the property which make you feel you are on holiday all the time, even during spells of rain! A very peaceful setting and ideal for exploring the West of the Island.

  • "This house is so outstanding that the selfish part of me wants to keep it a secret so I won't have to wait in line once it's discovered—and I most definitely want to return!"

    We came to experience the coast and this location has it: sea views, 5-minute walk to Colwell Beach with great places to eat and drink at sea's edge: The Hut, The Bay, and the Waterfront, all in easy walking distance along the seawall with The Needles in full view. The house layout is ideal for a retreat, beds were comfortable, and everything was thoughtfully designed and immaculate. Thank you for a wonderfully refreshing stay!

  • "We had a wonderful two week stay and would certainly consider returning."

    The upside down layout allows you to take full advantage of the seaview towards Fort Albert and also having an additional lounge on the ground floor makes the property most versatile. Restaurants and acquiring provisions from Totland or Freshwater are both accessible without the need for a vehicle.

The property

Sea Breeze is a stunning, coastal residence with breath-taking views over Colwell Bay and The Solent, based in Totland, Isle of Wight.

The property sits in what was the part of the Warden Point Battery (Fort Warden), built in 1860 and formed part of the Needles Passage defences; today it offers a contemporary accommodation, ideal for a family or group of couples, looking to explore the Isle of Wight.

The house is set out in a reverse-level style, with the double-height, open-plan living space situated upstairs to take advantage of the coastal views; the kitchen has been well-equipped with all the necessities for a week away, whilst the sitting area is perfect for relaxing as you appreciate the views from the oversized windows.

Off the living area is the master suite with bifold doors leading to the rear decking, a lavish en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

On the ground floor there are three double bedrooms, one benefiting from an en-suite shower room, and an additional lounge if you need a quiet space away from the group.

The lawned garden offers ample room for family games and for your pooch to stretch their legs, and the slightly raised, wooden decking area spans the whole width of the house and offers a space to sit.

Within a short walk lies Colwell Bay, regarded as one of the most picturesque beaches on the Isle of Wight, offering glorious views back across the Solent to mainland England where beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed; your canine companion is welcome too!

Freshwater village with its range of shops, services and amenities lies a mile away and the historic harbour town of Yarmouth, with its mainland car ferry terminal, historic Castle, excellent sailing facilities and good range of local eateries, is within a short drive.

The village of Totland rests in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the west side of the Isle of Wight's beautiful coast, offering visitors local shops and pubs and spectacular unspoilt coastal scenery. The award-winning beaches of both Totland and Colwell Bay offer a range of activities, whilst a pretty footpath will take you to Freshwater in ten minutes where you will find its golf course and public swimming pool. It is also an excellent starting point for walks along the Tennyson Trail. Take a chair lift from Alum Bay and enjoy some of the wonderful views across the sand cliffs to the famous 'Needles' chalk stacks and lighthouse beyond, or explore the quaint narrow streets, ancient castle and busy harbour at Yarmouth. A great destination with plenty to see and do!
