  • "Lovely clean, well maintained property which met all our needs."

It is well equipped and the welcome pack was a nice touch. The property is located in a quiet Close and is well situated to access other parts of the Island. Jo kindly helped us book our ferry crossings at discount prices. We also had messages welcoming us and advising who to contact if there were any issues. We ate at The Cow, Jaffran Indian in Freshwater and had Sunday lunch at The Sun in Calbourne. All were excellent. We would thoroughly recommend Tennyson View and would certainly stay here again should we return to the IOW. Thank you Jo and Simon

  • "Another lovely stay at Tennyson View, clean, comfortable in the perfect location for walking around West Wight."

New en-suite shower cubicle, new cooker and grass laid in back garden, all good improvements although the property is pretty much perfect. Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you

  • "We have had a fantastic week at Tennyson view."

Having stayed in a number of comparable holiday homes around the UK, this was the cleanest, and most nicely decorated. We would thoroughly recommend it to anybody looking for a relaxing and hassle free break, and a well situated base from which to explore the Isle of Wight. We have two children, 3 and 1, who thoroughly enjoyed the space. Despite being November, there were lots of activities and family locations within a 30min drive to enjoy. Tapnell Farm and The Gossip cafe in Yarmouth were highlights for us. A cot and high chair were available at the house also, meaning we had less to pack. Simon and Jo thoroughly looked after us and we felt were always on hand should we need. They provided great discounts on the ferry crossings, were quick to respond and really looked after us. Thank you!

Great space for our family. Our son loved the house so much he keeps asking to go back to the holiday house!

Brilliant Jason, we’re so pleased that you and the family had a great stay. Pleasing little ones is a hard thing to do making it extra special. He’s welcome back any time. Simon & Jo Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely holiday home."

We’d definitely recommend this house. It was clean and comfortable. It’s in a good location, about 5 minutes drive from the ferry. It’s really quiet and you can walk down to the beach, which we loved. We like to get away from it all and prefer quieter neighbourhoods rather than somewhere busy. The island is quite small so you can easily get around to see the rest of the island.

Sarah, many thanks for your review. We're glad that you had a good stay and made the most of the Island. We hope to welcome you again in the future. Simon & Jo Property Owner

  • "A delightful property - it was clean, fresh, well equipped and exactly as described."

For us it was also ideally placed being under 10 minutes to walk to the local shops, or to Totland or Colwell Bay. We had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to rebook here.

Andrew. Many thanks for your feedback. We are really glad that you had a good stay in Totland and that our house was everything that you needed. We would love to welcome you again. Simon & Jo Property Owner

  • "Tennyson View is as described a well positioned, refurbished house."

I’ll start with positives - beds comfortable, towels fluffy, water hot, furnished to high modern standard. All amenities inc washing machine which isn’t mentioned in the listing. Close to beautiful walks Sadly it’s let down by cleanliness. On first glance superficially clean however main bedroom bed head top had to be hoovered as thick dust. High surfaces dust ++.Mirrors smeared and beautiful tv streaked where screen wiped. Light switches greasy throughout. Old grease. Garden is lovely. But furniture dirty and covered in cobwebs and bird droppings. Such that we decided not to use. We emailed the owner to inform them as this spoils their beautiful house. But no acknowledgment from email they provided which is disappointing. I hasten to add as a family we are not nit picky but this was far from what we come to expect from holiday cottage standards, basic cleanliness on arrival

Dear Martyn, Thank you for your booking and subsequent review of our property in Totland. We were pleased that on balance you had a good stay and found many positives in the property, but disappointed with the points around cleanliness and unresponsiveness. On the cleanliness, we find this very disappointing since the property is very recently completely newly decorated and furnished and we have had lots of great feedback on cleanliness from our other guests to date. Nonetheless if that was your experience then we are taking it seriously and will address as appropriate. It's got our full attention so thank you. On the unresponsiveness, as new owners we are being extra vigilant and very responsive. We have a dedicated account for enquiries/ feedback, which receives only comms related to the property and unfortunately we did not receive any email. We can only assume/ suggest that perhaps there was a typo in the address perhaps? Had we received something we would have acted immediately (as we have in the past) as we want all our guests to have a great stay. Hopefully this is just one of those things! Thank you for your subsequent comms one to one. It is helpful to us to understand an improve our property for our guests. Once again we are glad that on balance you had a good stay. Property Owner

Very well maintained. Kitchen is fully equipped. There is everything in the house what you need. It was very tidy and clean. One of the best places we have stayed. Totland pier is walkable which is a bonus .

  • "This is a well thought out property, quality beds, bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen."

The use of the garage to store bikes or boards is also a bonus. On the quieter part of the island but the beach just 10 mins walk away makes it a real relaxing area, but then you can cross the island in 50 mins so nowhere is far. We got the ferry from Lymington and it took 10 mins from Yarmouth to the house perfect.

Thank you very much for your feedback Nigel. We're glad that you had a good stay and hope to host you again. Simon and Jo Property Owner

  • "We had a happy stay in Tennyson View for three nights and liked this cozy house."

Obviously it is newly refurbished and well decorated with everything you need for a family holiday. The property is located in a very quiet neighborhood, just five minutes drive to Tesco & Sainsburys Local for daily supplies and short distances to the sea front and attractions in west area. Nothing to complain!

  • "A great property, a stone's throw from both Totland and Colwell bays."

Clearly recently refurbished with new furnishings and carpets throughout. Exceptionally clean and well presented. Kitchen well stocked with all the main accessories. Comfortable lounge, and nice to be able to use the courtyard garden. TV, Wifi, all working well. Bedrooms very comfortable, all spacious and great showers. The garage was also useful to store bikes or buggies. Off street parking for 1 car was ideal right outside the door. The only things which let the property down, was there was nothing by way of local info, guidebooks or attractions. No info about wifi code, even though we figured it out through Sky. Also, we requested a highchair (which we found in the garage) but also specifically went on Sykes LiveChat to request a travelcot and this was confirmed in the property. Even the description said to bring sheets. Luckily we also brought our own cot as there was nothing upon arrival which was disappointing. There could also be a few more family friendly things like baby gates on the stairs. Otherwise, a nice property.

Hi Stuart. Thank you for your feedback. As one of our first ever rentals its hugely valuable to us to be able to understand what works and what doesn't and act on it. Which we will straightaway. So thank you. We did try to contact you and other early guests with information about the property and local area in advance of your stay via the details logged with Sykes, but it seems that it didn't get through. Again a learning for us and we will resolve. Fantastic that despite a few small hiccups you found the property in great shape and we hope that you had a fantastic break. Property Owner
