  • "Lovely warm barn in a great location."

Alison was good with tips but remained unobtrusive and left us to our holiday. Great pub recommendations- The Sheppey a must visit. Highly recommend for a couple who love walking- Nigel’s directions for walks from the Natn are excellent.

Little things like the phone call from the owner the day before our stay and the gift of drinks and biscuits added an extra something and made us feel welcome in what is an extension of their home. A very good place for things to see and do. We would very much like to return at some point in the future.

Only negatives and these are more personal preferences but the bed was too soft and the tvs too small (although the TV in the living room was bigger than in the advert), we would certainly recommend.

  • "A lovely renovated barn."

Small gravelled garden with double gates which made it very secure for our two westies. Good kitchen downstairs that is very well equipped with everything you should need, even had sharp knives which I find is a rarity. Smart tv so Netflix’s etc once you’ve logged in. Our only fault and for us it was a major one was the BED! The mattress to say the least was a very basic coil sprung one when it was bought and offered no support at all. So much in fact that we had to buy 2 cheap duvets which we put on top which helped a little but still caused us broken sleep and back ache, so much so that we left a day early. It was a real shame as everything else is a really good quality but for us a good bed is vital. We mentioned this to the owners and really hope they address this with a decent supportive mattress. Once this is done it will be 5 stars like it deserves

A couple of minor points: - the radiator in the dining room didn't come on at all - one of the fire bricks in the side of the wood burner has come loose and was in the base of the stove. It is possible to put it back but it keeps falling down.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you had an enjoyable stay. We are sorry that the radiator in the dining room didn't come on and also about the loose firebrick in the wood burner. We will get someone to deal with both of these issues. Had we been made aware of the issues during your stay we would have done all we could to get them rectified at the time. We do hope that we might be able to welcome you back again sometime in the future. Property Owner

When mentioned to the Owner they stated that there was a mattress topper on the bed, which suggests that this issue has been raised before ? After three nights of little or no sleep we decided we could not continue the stay. Tiredness and aching bodies were not what we were looking for in our break away.

Thank you for your feedback, we do take this seriously. Ideal for couples. Nice location for walks and close location to Cheddar Gorge. Just let down a little bit by a slight lack of cleanliness and bathroom being a bit overdue for a revamp. Example such as the mattress cover was dirty (noticed when taking off the sheets at end of the stay), also stairs didn't appear to be cleaned, noticed pet hairs on arrival. One other recommendation would be to have a larger TV in the lounge area to improve overall experience.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in The Barn. The Barn (including the shower room) will receive its annual refresh in early February. We will bring your other comments to the cleaners' attention. We agree with you that a larger television in the sitting room would be a good idea and we will replace it for the 2022 season. Thank you once again for your feedback and we wish you a Happy New Year. Property Owner
