Absolutely amazing home from home - superb location with cycling facilities to everywhere - we will be booking again for sure - couldn’t recommend this house high enough - just perfect

  • "The house was nice but the bathroom tiles where the shower is could do with a good clean with bleach as there was mould on the grout also there were no spare toilet rolls which you normally have."

  • "I’m not to sure if anyone else has reported that the mechanism on the bathroom toilet keeps coming apart when you push the button to flush it."

    Everything else was excellent

  • "Upstairs is like a sauna in hot weather, please provide some fans or air con."

Bedding is unsuitable for time of year, duvet is far too thick. Pillow protectors feel stiff and uncomfortable. Some bedding has some slight mildew type staining, it was clean though, just stained. Kitchen was completely bare, meaning we had to completely restock everything, some salt, pepper, oil would be good. Parasol, sunlounger and barbeque were in garage covered in cobwebs. Electric shower was poor, upgrade to gas for better flow and consistent temp. Kitchen was well equipped. Tv was good. House clean. Area a bit run down, which is not landlords fault, but this is the most money i have spent on a weeks booking, in a house that was slightly substandard to all previous uk cottage experiences. Dont get me wrong, the house is pleasant, but for the money....not quite what it should be.

  • "Magnolia House was a wonderful place to stay for our holiday!"

It was extremely clean and comfortable. Plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, and pans. Also had a microwave, water kettle, cafetiere, and lots of beach toys for the kids.

  • "Magnolia House is a beautiful, spacious, well-equipped home from home."

I particularly enjoyed evenings on the patio with the decorative lighting. My adult children liked the technology and my 19 month old grandson loved playing in the garden. We were well positioned to access many local attractions including Abbottsbury sub-tropical gardens and swannery, Monkey World and The Sea Life Centre. We wandered into town one day and drove in a couple of times. There is also a garage available for storing your bikes if you choose to bring them. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend booking Magnolia House through Sykes to anyone.

Really convenient location and plenty of room for the 3 of us. Kitchen was perfectly fine but bring a cafetiere if you need your morning coffee!

The beach only 2 miles away and 2 rspb wildlife areas only a short distance away. We must have walked over 60 miles in the week came home very tired but very happy. This is our 3rd holiday with sykes and will use sykes for every holiday

  • "Unfortunately we did not find this clean enough."

The bathroom toilet seat dirty underneath, sink dirty under bowl, bath panel dirty, toothbrush holder full of toothpaste. Stair banister dirty and in need of a good scrub. Patio doors and front doors covered in dirty handprints. Bed stained underneath mattress cover and sides. Expected better during these covid times especially. The whole place needs a good clean and upgrade.

  • "Magnolia House was perfect - located just outside town, but close to local shopping outlet/supermarket, and with 2 RSPB reserves on its doorstep - one was just at the end of the road!"

Nice quiet area but the parking space at the property is quite tight, even for our little Aygo - so we tried to park on the street if we could. The house is very well equipped, comfy beds, and with everything you need - even Sky TV so my hubby could watch his cricket! Would highly recommend.

  • "Clean, well equipped house with plenty of room."

Good shower and exceptionally comfy bed. Spacious kitchen/diner with plenty of crockery should you want to prepare a meal and a delightful garden for enjoying what's left of the sunshine in October! Good path for walking into Weymouth, which we did on a number of occasions, and The Famous Spa Pub located conveniently near the property, where we had a nice Sunday Lunch. We enjoyed the short drive over the causeway to Portland (8 miles), a trip into Dorchester (8 miles) and a trip to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove (15 miles, through beautiful countryside). The property is in a great spot for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Parking on the driveway on the side of the house was tight, but we had no propblem parking on the roadside directly outside the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

  • "The house was in a fantastic location with a short 30 min walk to the beach."

Close to town and all amenities and great as a base to travel to other locations. The house itself exceeded expectations and was clean, comfortable and larger than expected. The photos don’t do it justice. Only thing that would have improved it would have been a fridge full of beer waiting on arrival! Thoroughly recommended and will try an use again in the future if staying in Dorset.

  • "The house was lovely and clean and finished to a pleasingly high spec."

It is located very close to all amenities and situated in a nice, quiet area of town. Parking was never a problem outside the house. Our only negative of the stay was that we did feel it poor service that only one dishwasher tablet was left out for us - it would have been appreciated if there was sufficient for the weeks stay.

  • "This is the second time we've stayed in Magnolia House and I'm delighted to say that standards are still as high."

The location is good - on a residential street in easy reach of 3 supermarkets and a pleasant stroll from the beach and the town. The furniture and equipment in the cottage are of an excellent quality - including the outdoor furniture. The new TV pleased some of our party and touches like a good quality radio in most rooms makes the place very homely. Its been freshly decorated and was very very clean. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. Stayed June 2017

  • "Magnolia House was a lovely place to stay, it is very nicely decorated, clean and with absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing week."

The welcoming tea/coffee/biscuit pack was a pleasant surprise. Having a private, sunny garden meant my wife and I could have breakfast and lunch outside in the fresh air. Being six feet tall I was delighted with the extra length king size bed, with all the linen and towels included. The WiFi and Sky TV made us very happy; we could catch up on any TV programmes we'd missed whenever we wanted to. In a quiet residential area with local supermarkets and a Beefeater nearby and the town centre / beach within walking distance through Radipole Gardens, it could not be better placed. Having always used hotels before, this was our first experience of renting a house / cottage; we had a lovely holiday and will certainly use Dream Cottages again. Stayed September 2016

  • "Lovely house."

Nicely decorated, clean and with everything we needed. The tea/coffee/biscuit pack was a lovely welcome surprise. The WiFi and Sky TV made my whole family very happy! My son described his bed as 'snuggly' and both children slept well. The area was very convenient with local supermarkets and a playground close by.The house was slightly further from the town centre / beach than I had anticipated but it was a pleasant walk and we had brought the children's scooters which helped. Overall, thank you for a lovely holiday.Stayed July/August 2015

  • "We spent a week here whilst visiting family in Weymouth."

The location was perfect for us - walking distance of the town and family and close to an array of supermarkets - Morrisons, Sainsburys and Lidl are practically on the doorstep. The weather was kind and we used the garden and the excellent outside furniture a lot. Well equipped with comfortable furniture and beds. The conservatory was a great place to relax in the evening and off road parking is a bonus. Also - excellent Chinese takeaway at the end of the road!
